Topic: How do you RE-engage a garage door opener?!

My power was off today and I had to pull the chord and disengage it to get my car out. Now...I can't figure out how to RE-engage the thing. Anybody care to try to walk me thru this??

look for the manual with the remote and see if there is anything about resetting the sensor:smile:

Check the make and then look online for the manual

Look for the make and model # usually located on the side of the unit attached to the ceiling,, and Google it,, they should have a manuel you can download

if i remember right........ close the door again and push the lil latch up where the string is tied to.... i did it a couple of times but maybe a year ago.. so dont really remember

I don't know what kind you have.
there should be a reset switch, but you'll have to climb a stepladder to find it.
It shoud be on the side of the motor. either a white lever or a red button.
thats about all I can say without seeing it. I hope this helps

Yeah that seems to be the place where I see the connection needs to be made. I tried pushing it up but nothing happened. That bar is no longer straight, like it is engaged.

Do you mean you opened the door manually with the pull chain?
