I know this is technically a single's community, but I have noticed there are several married members. I would like to know from you, and anyone else who has an opinion, what it was about your partner that sparked "forever" inside of you and made you decide to attach yourself for life.

To much to try to elaborate. One thing never been marred but came close but just to much "stuff" would have gotten in the way and like the national avg. would have been divorce in 4 yrs. Live in sin unless your type that needs that piece os paper!

Serious answer:

I was married once....and for 25 years. A very good run.

The things that really impressed me about her was that she had her act together. We were both 19...she had a good job, a stable income, an apartment, paid all her bills, lived within her means, had a nice car, ....just overall, she was not an eff'd up scatter brain that just wanted to party and run up credit card bills.

I had my act together too.

I suppose this answer could work both ways on "what impressed me".

Good luck!drinker

And don't marry a loser!

I was asking out of curiosity to see what makes people want that piece of paper. Don't worry about me... I'm not looking to get married any time soon.

Take a lot of time….. don’t rush or be rushed. Love has a way of screwing up your radar and leading you straight into hell if you don’t keep one foot on the ground… when done right marriage can be the greatest blessing in your life… but if the both of you aren’t on the same page you could be looking at years of unhappiness and regret that you will take with you into your new relationships… take it slow and careful, do it right the first time…. If you believe in God, Pray for guidance, after all he created marriage.

I think some people who get married are asking for it from the off... as they aren't really good for each other but they just don't want to see it straight away. Others who are get married have the right chemistry and that is where truely wonderful things could happen.
