Is Palin the most qualified person that McCain could have picked?

I am embarrassed that he picked Palin. Can you imagine her as our President? It can happen. He is 72 years old and had cancer four times.

I believe if they become President and Vice-President, he has put our country in jeopardy in the event that he would die.

Other countries must be laughing at us, IMO.

Why, because she is attractive? I can't think of any other reason.

I believe she has bigger balls than Obama to do what needs to be done and stand behind it!

Evidently McCain thought he was going to lose for sure, so threw up a "Hail Mary".

If it was a "Hail Mary" he threw it to the wrong side of the field.

Women who supported her were doing so for more than her gender. Think McCain missed that point.

Though the bottom line is very few voters vote because of the running mate. The vote for the person whose name is on the top of the ticket.

Obama is the joke of the century. Palin is more qualified to run the country, when McCain dies. I feel better with her then o&m running it.

Biden is the most qualified of the 4. Of course there are more qualified people, but they don't want the job.

Anyone who thinks Palin is more qualified than Obama is insane.

Who is Sarah Palin?
Here's some basic background:

She was elected Alaska's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.

Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.

She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.

Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.

She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.

She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.

How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.

So Governor Palin is a staunch anti-choice religious conservative. She's a global warming denier who shares John McCain's commitment to Big Oil. And she's dramatically inexperienced.
In picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made the religious right very happy. And he's made a very dangerous decision for our country.
