I sent a message to someone who was sposed to be a mutual match, lol. He said he clicked on yes on accident and didn't find me attractive in the least. Now, there are ways to say you aren't interested without being rude, ya know?

True enough "Buffry"....but then AGAIN there are some who are very persistant and annoying. Sometimes the other ways dont work so wellohwell

Well...best to not assume the worst of everyone and try to not slit someones throat for saying hello, lol. Doesn't take much for a girl like me to let go and move on. There are plenty of plenty of men to go around twice.lol

Isnt that the most honest and easiest way to put it?

Their's that and their is also the subtle way of just saying...."Look...your are sweet and all, but your feet stink. Yeah...and I can't deal with stinky feet, so I am not interested. May I suggest Dr. Scholls?"laugh
rofl had some ladies with stinkfoot goof?

No. It just came to so I wrote it down.laugh laugh

True enough, but common courtesy for the first contact would be nice...

Thank you! It was only the first email I sent the guy...it was a short and sweet hello, how are you! lol And he went to town, lol. Not that it hurt me, but I was a bit perturbed.

Exactly. If someone isn't interested, no problem. No need to be rude about it, though.

SO much better to say "not interested" (nicely of course!) than to let them believe there is a possibility...
own up to it. Better to hurt someone now than hurt them worse later. (Plus they'll feel stupid for not "getting it" sooner!)

Ohhh, Jim, you sexy thing, I have missed you!

Not interested? How about just not feeling it? Honesty is always best even if it hurts.

That comment seems like the electronic version of a slap in the face. How about being polite but to the point...

"Thanks for your interest, but we're not a good match."

If I get a message that appears the sender thinks he is responding to a message I know I didn't send, I usually add:

FYI: Most sites send an automatically generated notice claiming a person is interested whenever someone checks out your profile, or whenever you are online it sends notices to others that match some of your criteria.

I've received so many..."we thought you'd like to know 'xyz' is looking for someone like you" or "'xyz' is interested in you" It's how they keep you logging in so all the members appear to be active. Who would join a site that no one has logged onto in 3 months?

Anyway, you can always be rude if they insist on replying back to one of these messages. Why crush someone who has just gotten their hopes up through the trickery of electronic match making?

- My two cents

Why do we have to be so "PC" when it comes to telling someone we are not into them? I mean, if a person says the words, "Tell me truth...are you into me?"....I am supposed to lie? I am supposed to use tact?

Oh...that's right...we live in a "take my feelings into consideration" kind of world now. Basically, blunt honesty is out the window. Aint that some s*it?

It is true.... but I still am honest. And loathe people who aren't.
