It's so subjective. People have different ideas of who/what is attractive or not. Gem always told me I was "easy on the eyes" which I found slightly amusing.

I agree, based on the limited views I get on here....smitten

If this doesn't scream "Attention Whore"....I don't know what does!laugh laugh laugh laugh

Lilith you are very attractive in my opinion. You have nice photos also. I didnt actually begin to get substantial views/responses until I started posting and especially some of my remarks in the Religion Forum. laugh

My profile was here for quite a while before I started posting on the forums. It got very few views during that time.

Once I started posting, it got more and more looks. Still not very many though.

Once I added my current avatar, though, the views went WAY up. That bear seems to have that effect...lmao

"it's so subjective." -- I would have to respectfully disagree. Attractiveness is quantifiable. I don't recall the exact study/research..but certain theory's point in the direction symmetry...the more you are symetrical..the more attractive you are...that is to say the proportion to nose to eyes..eyes to other eye..ect...in your case Lilith..it doesn't surprise me the least bit that your receiving many responses...what you say and do has much less to do with it than your physical beauty..

I'm familiar with those studies, and there do seem to be some fairly consistent facial measurements/ratios which impact on what many people consider attractive. The results are not universal and have been shown to vary from culture to culture.

In any case, there is a huge discrepancy between what any given person finds attractive and what any other given person finds attractive. In my own case, I have never been even slightly attracted to what is considered the "typical beauty" as defined by typical American culture.

I have friends who are absolutely convinced that so-and-so is "the most beautiful person in the world" but I can't even begin to comprehend that evaluation.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" -- were it not so, there would be no point in having the Miss America and other beauty contests, would there? Everyone would AUTOMATICALLY know the winner immediately.

Sorry, there is a huge subjective element to the concept of "attractive" -- and everyone has his or her own standards.

If males were more sweaty there would be less of a problem.I surmise that there is a significant lack of pheromone due to all this showering.

good points..perhaps its not absolute, one way or the other...another relating study that i learned was the predictability of leaders...they assessed presidents..among the many variables..height and birth order had correlation..even though the correlation was low, it was statistically significant nonetheless...

Oh, absolutely -- I remember a study which discussed politicians doing better if they were tall, and not bald -- there is some value, for those running for political office, in the perception of having "youth" and "strength" -- FDR's hiding his polio, as an example -- wouldn't do for the citizens to see that their "leader" was susceptible to the same diseases everyone else gets.....

All I'm saying is that, underlying the "trends" and the "generalities," there are individual factors, preferences, as well.
