Have you ever gone out of your way at work to avoid saying hello to someone? Either that person is extremely annoying and/or nice. This happens to me in the mornings. Some people are just way to chipper in the morning especially while I am carrying a purse and two bags and trying to unlock my classroom door. Drives me insane. Wait a few then come in and say hello after my stuff is put away.

Don't avoid them - make use of them, have them either help you with your bags, help you open the door biggrin

Not at the school that I work at. I have the room right across from the teachers work room and they are always in there early in the morning and I know how to get all of the copiers unjammed and to make all the necessary copies the correct way and add toner and they always need to borrow tape, scissors, glue, pencil, pen name it.

indeed, and as one set each bag to the floor, one by one, as slow as possible, and the said hello back, the lack of thought would be shown to the lacker of sight, and it would see itself, and what is it doing.

tell em, loud and clear!!!

there is no MEAN, no unkind, no unpeace, unless true sight of things is not spoken, and indeed shall drive you unsane, MORE EACH DAY, as such things not spoken, to the offender, only destroy both the offender and the offended.

it is an illusion, that speaking negative will not fix what is negative???

either it will in short time fix, sometimes instantly, or in a long time, but there is no solution at all possible, for anything, except but to speak it, and to not, is for onself to die in it's own misery of sadness, and to steal all the love from within the heart.

I find it is the teachers and staff that get here and hour and a half earlier than they half to because they don't have kids or that they live alone so they have the time in the world. I on the other hand work 2 jobs and sleep 4 hours between the 1st and 2nd. I am always in a rush to get stuff done and everybody knows this who works with me. I am not a procrastinator and don't intend to start. So I just do and do and do.

Geez, most people are offended by people who are rude, unpleasant and downright disagreeable to work with. And you're offended because your colleagues are going out of the way to be nice and pleasant to you? Go figure.

If it truly bothers you, say something to them. I'm sure you'll very quickly find that no one would bother disturbing you again.

Now who is being rude. I was just making an observation of how when someone is carrying a ton of things it doens't bother someone else to ask them to help them with something. I always say hello back and smile even if I don't mean it.

I was deliberately being rude so you could see the difference. Yes, perhaps your co-workers could wait. But, if they don't know it bothers you, then they couldn't possibly correct it. People fall into bad habits without even realizing it. If you don't communicate effectively, it doesn't help correct problems. Your smiling and saying hello when you don't mean it just as equally contributes to the problem as much as them being obtuse to the fact that you have just walked through the door with your hands completely full. I wish you well with your problem, though quite honestly, there are millions of people who wish they only had something so petty and trivial to deal with.

Try reading my profile and see the crap that I have been "dealing" with for the past 7 months. Everyone at work knows about it to. I have worked here for 11 years you would think they would get the hint.

I ABSOLUTELY try and avoid a certain person in the morning. Sometimes I am just not ready to hear about their life. I'm not a grumpy person in the morning by no means, BUT my goodness, day in and day out of listening to someone complain about everything is really annoying. I avoid this person as much as I can.....

Exactly what I am talking about not just saying hi but telling me what they did all weekend long. I have kids to get to.
