And a ****ed up attitude that apparently keeps you single.

Upon looking at different women's profiles, if I see certain words or phrases, I tend to pass them up. Here are a few:

1)I am very strong woman (to me, it means they have been threw a lot, so anything you say or do will piss them off)

2)I am very independent (well thats good, but as above, I wonder what they are really trying to say. I guess its not as bad as "I am very dependent" lol)

3)I am a professional woman (There is nothing wrong with having a "profession" you enjoy doing but...this could be a "your job better be as good as my job" statement.

4) I am straightforward and blunt. (How about just say your honest. Straightforward and blunt to me implies they will say rude things and think they can get away with it.)

5) I love to party. (well I do too, but when I read this statement, I picture a girl hoping from guy to guy in a bar demanding attention. Not sure why.)

6)I'm looking for someone not to break my heart. (I am too, but advertising it to me is slightly fishy. I have been down this road before with women, and a lot of the self proclaimed "heartbroken" ones will be the quickest to do the same to you.

Can't think of any more right now. Oh, and don't take any of these personally if you have them on your profile. To each their own. Just thought it would be fun to see if people have their own things they don't like to see.

I have such a girl-crush on you, Lee!!!!!! smitten

I've had other guys try to say the same thing to me.

I love for them to count all of their disfunctional relationships vs. mine.

I've had none! My relationships were all pretty great. They ran their course but they were great! My standards stayed high and it paid off.

I'd much rather be single than be with an idiot. spock

I have a feeling the guys that find fault with my expectations are probably the worst offenders! Getting butt-hurt shows those true colors.

1)I am very strong woman (to me, it means they have been threw a lot, so anything you say or do will piss them off)

I think it's easy to read too much into this. It can mean anything from "I'm NOT strong but I can't admit that" to "I am VERY strong and I don't care who knows it." What I look out for in these cases is over-repetitiveness. If she's ramming "strong" down your throat every other sentence, then she probably has some issues with feeling not so strong.

2)I am very independent (well thats good, but as above, I wonder what they are really trying to say. I guess its not as bad as "I am very dependent" lol)

Again, different motivations for different people. It could mean something as simple as "I have my own life and I am not going to overturn everything about it for an iffy shot at a possible relationship." And I think there are women who want to make it clear that they are NOT golddiggers looking for someone to support them. Overall, I think "independent" probably carries more positive connotations than negative.

3)I am a professional woman (There is nothing wrong with having a "profession" you enjoy doing but...this could be a "your job better be as good as my job" statement.

If it's going to be a "job competition" scenario, you'll find out soon enough. I would just assume she means she has a career, and that career carries a certain level of importance. I'm not going to read any more into it than that without further indicators.

4) I am straightforward and blunt. (How about just say your honest. Straightforward and blunt to me implies they will say rude things and think they can get away with it.)

That's a semantics issue. And EVERYBODY on these sites says they're "honest" -- that means nothing. Telling me you're "honest" is like saying "I love my family and friends" -- it's so reflexive, it has no meaning anymore.

5) I love to party. (well I do too, but when I read this statement, I picture a girl hoping from guy to guy in a bar demanding attention. Not sure why.)

For me -- given my standards -- this is an immediate disqualification. So I actually appreciate it when they put this in their profiles. It means I don't have to waste any more time on that one.

6)I'm looking for someone not to break my heart. (I am too, but advertising it to me is slightly fishy. I have been down this road before with women, and a lot of the self proclaimed "heartbroken" ones will be the quickest to do the same to you.

Yeah, I rank this right up there with "No game players" -- it's like waving a red flag in front of a red bull. They're basically admitting they've been hurt and have made some bad decisions before, and are asking other people to make the decision for them....and what is a true game player going to do? They're opportunists, and this is an opportunity.
