Topic: Fake accounts?

So I've received a couple messages from accounts that have a name + five numbers after it, i.e., Stephanie33492. The first account was deactivated before I could read the message sent to me. The second account (with a similar name format) was deactivated 3 hours after I replied to a message received.

Are these fake bot accounts being deleted and created? The monotinous names make me suspect so. Is mingle closing these accounts? And has anyone else experienced this?

I'm just a bit curious.

Hi,

There is an issue with a rush of scammers very recently. The Administrators are aware of the problem and are working to take care of this.

You can report scammers from their profiles (the button is to the right of their main picture) or report them through email or IMs. There are report abuse buttons on emails and IMs

More than likely, Mingle banned the accounts. That would show as deactivated.

Thank you for your patience,
Kim

do you REALLY think fifteen gorgeous hot sexy young women are all gonna suddenly decide that YOU are the one for them and email you out of the blue?

that doesn't even happen in porn movies

Here is the funny thing. Before the account was deactived, I had a chance to see the second profile.

She was a shockingly average looking person, 28 years with a kid. Not a playboy bunny with fillers all over.

Dateing scams have been around for years. Russia are the best and most convinceing. The ones that showed up on this site were pretty lame. The sad part is, the person you see is not the one doing the scamming. Africa started scammin a few years ago. So expect the scammin on the free dateing sites. There not hard to see. Like the old sayin" If its too good to be true, Its not"

I get a lot of scammers from England. I was fooled into giving out my messenger id and that's it, from the first one. I noticed that the context of the messages are sappy and romance-filled...crap!

I received over fifty of them sometime between yesterday and today. I had to go through them all because there were a couple real emails mixed in. I am not a big fan of these scammers. They stink.

It seems that the only "attention" I've received thus far is from the scammers. Every single profile I've clicked on while wondering, "what on earth does that awesome gal see in me!?" has been deactivated.frustrated

Why do you suppose they show as deactivated? What do you think went wrong? lol We work hard to keep them off the site, and this is not just an issue on Mingle2, this is happening everywhere.

If you guys suspect a scammer, just hit that report button, we will check it out.
