is it the same as a heart attack and if it isn't what's the difference?

A heart attack is a problem with the heart. Could be arrhythmia an abnormal beat, or it just stops. Cardiac arrest is when the heart stops beating. Some times with people who take too many sleeping pills or other such drugs the heart just stops beating, and they die.
so what's the difference if a heart stops beating in both cases? is there a difference?

If the heart stops beating it's cardiac arrest no matter what the cause. The result is if you don't get it restarted in minutes, you die.
so in a heart attack up above you said that the heart stops beating, i still do not know the difference

Sit down, pour yourself a big tub full of Johnnie black and do a google search.

A cardiac arrest is different from (but may be caused by) a heart attack, where blood flow to the heart is interrupted.

Heart attack, the blood flow is interrupted. Cardiac arrest, the blood just stops.
this is making me a nervous nelly as much as i have drank over the yrs gee i do not want it to happen to me. my heart hurts thinking about it.

Drinking too much, too much drug use...few people realize that regardless of quitting, years after they quit it can still come back and haunt them with other health issues. Will probably happen to me due to my past, all you can do is try to live healthy...eat well, and stay active.

There's only one INTELLIGENT thing to do when one wonders why someone died, and that is to WAIT FOR THE MEDICAL REPORT. there are no end of people whose memories have been slandered by hurried speculations. Many people STILL think that Heath Ledger died of drug abuse, simply because that was the early speculation.
PUH-LEEZ wait for the medical report. Don't be like the idiot reporters, who are only out to prove how good they are at GUESSING THE NEWS IN ADVANCE.

Didn't ole Heath have a big drug cocktail in him when he passed?

No, Heath had a bad reaction between over the counter sleep aids and a prescription he was on for something else. Not drug abuse, bad drug interaction. Bad luck, really.

Just keeping things real,

"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine. We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications",

DRUG ABUSE!

Cheers

If you're dealer is your doctor, it's not drug addiction. It's over-medication, which makes it legal.
