It's a song... and an Irish song... about Irish working-man's plight.

However, I think the theme of the song is applicable -

that most ENDURE schooling only to be sent off to ENDURE working right after, with a clear minority finding any fulfillment in their job.

How do you guys feel about that? Really. I'm interested.
I feel your pain. * smile *

How about people who've dropped out of school?
Where's our song, dammit?

It depends what school you dropped out of. *smile*
I dropped out, just really damn late in the game.

I dropped out of Kent State University because it smelled like old wet wool and the wind made me dizzy.

I see your point.

I despise having a regular job and I still can't play an instrument.

If I don't write a book soon I'm gonna go find a coal mine to play in.

I work 3rd shift an an abused women shelter making more $$$ than I would have made if I had finished college and started teaching English to angsty teenagers.

I kept going to college for english... but I didn't want to be a teacher. What a conundrum.

I wanted to be an addiction counselor, but they drug test.

It's kinda like... I always go out with people when they go to smoke cigarettes, even though I don't, because those are usually the people I get along with.

Props to anyone who works in shelters.

Maybe I'll move to Portugal and farm.

Anybody know what they like to farm there?

I think farming in Portugal might be like farming anywhere. Then again, I've never been to Portugal.laugh

A Brit who used to post rap-style stuff in the poetry forums showed me this program that's akin to the Peace Corps where you go and do organic farming for free to help the community.

Portugal is where he said he wanted to go. It looked nice.

I used to talk to a guy on here who did that. Can't remember what country he went to. Sounded interesting. Except for the part where he had to go poo in the woods. But yeah.drinker

He makes some good points. Same with Walmart, bombarded with ads 24/7....
