After 3 of the longest weeks of my life..............I was finally approved for my loan to buy my first house!!!!!!!!!!!!
 I have a lot of work ahead of me but couldnt be happier. Any one have any advice for me??? |

Congrats! Be there when they do the home inspection. Thanks! I had the inspection done last month. It has been a LONG process. Signed the contract early april and had everything done. Was just waiting patiently on loan approval!!! I was getting nervous cuz they took soooo long and never changed the closing date! I didnt want to pack then be turned down! |

Unfortunetly I have moved many times in my life.The last time was an emergency move. I got robbed at gunpoint at my last apt.I took as little as possible and got the heck out!!! I hope to stay at the new place for awhile. I am getting new furniture. I have my brother and a friend coming out thursday to help. Hopefully it will only take a day.(the move part anyway!) Beer and pizza is a MUST!!! |

Read all the fine print and if it has roof problems pass it up for it will have a lot more problems then that.......
Congrats to you my daughter just bought her first house. I will tell you the same ask a lot of questions write them all down so you don't forget them. School districts they are in what are the taxes like check out the neighborhood first. Have it inspected by someone else besides the one that is selling it to you....make sure you have the lowest possible rates......... Have friends and family go look at the house with you that knows what to look for as well. New paint can make a place look real good as well as hide many underlying problems.........  All in all good luck and take your time never rush into anything and 90% of the time don't pay what they are asking even if $5,000 less you offer believe me that money could go towards other things you will need. Also even if it is a new house don't just figure it is all good get even more critical on any blemishes you may find....you would be surprised what I have seen when I worked for a company that cleaned up around new homes...........   See ya already past that point  ohhh well just enjoy the house have fun fixing it up. Only advice I have now is if you want to re-paint if you have time do it before you move in talked my daughter into doing it that way and now she is glad she did.......

Thanks for all the advice...it was a nightmare process!!! Lots of scary places. This house is 5 yrs old. They did a half a$$ job painting. I dont have time to re-do it before I move in but will take room by room. There is a long list of stuff I want to take care of!!! I offered $17,000 less and they accepted. They paid $30,000 more than what I am buying for.....
