Is it a defense mechanism? Or an excuse? I don't know.... Both ... due to ... Fear of that which they do not understand, unfathomable seems to scare many ... Hence ... "Intimidate" ... Uggghhhh!!! I love the bold, adventurous discovers!!!  ... They alone scale the walls to my inbox, home, mind and heart! |

I love the bold, adventurous discovers!!! ... They alone scale the walls to my inbox, home, mind and heart! The thing that gets me is they make it out to be MY fault.... But all I'm doing is being me, and that means I'm going to write a lot of things down. It's what I do. It's like, if you saw a guy who was really good at juggling, let's say he could juggle seven armadillos while he was on a unicycle, would you be "intimidated"? I wouldn't -- impressed, yes, but intimidated? I don't think so. I'm 5'10" and 190 pounds. Not even physically intimidating, unless you're a dwarf with a foot ailment. |

Eh, just see it as a natural screening process ... A filter ...
When I let all my friends sign my yearbook in 9th grade - is when I first got it ... EVERY single signature said something about me being, strange, weird, mysterious, enigmatic, etc., etc... EVEN my very closest friends ...  ... My VERY best friend wrote: "To one great artist from one as well, stay weird or I won't like you!" Yeah, i never had any other yearbooks signed, I get it, I get it ... I loved how Europeans ALL framed it: "You aren't like most Americans, I've never met anyone like you - you're really different!" What a lovely way of telling me I'm strange ... ... I knew I was finally HOME!!!

I loved how Europeans ALL framed it: "You aren't like most Americans, I've never met anyone like you - you're really different!" What a lovely way of telling me I'm strange ... ... I knew I was finally HOME!!! I get that, too -- and most act like it's some kind of disease -- "Why aren't you like the rest of us?" They don't get that the similarities outweigh the differences -- I still need oxygen and water and sleep and enormous amounts of Ibuprofen -- they just focus on the "scary" stuff....and nobody can ever explain why it's "scary" other than to say it's "not normal".... |

QUITE honestly, Sexy Lexicon???
The ones that are intimidated would prolly bore us to tears, let's face it ... That or we'd bore them to tears ... yanno, uh??? I always end up entertaining, playing the clown and exhausted from them ... That screen door is there to protect all ... Think that is why I like to be in nature w/ peepazoids ... It is such a healthy, neutral leveling field ...  ... We are all really much more alike than different, there it shows! Everyone is kewl on a walk by the creek or ocean ... Silence is great too ... and silence there is so easy .... Effortless ... |

But then people see you that way, and they ONLY see you that way. In THAT venue, I was never allowed to have any problems, desires, wants, needs of my own. It was implicitly obvious that I was somehow "beyond" any of that stuff -- only I wasn't, I just knew how to compartmentalize things. Now, I find myself in a situation where there IS no one around -- I almost miss the "Mr. Fixit" role, at least it gave me a string of (endless, or so it seemed!) projects to work on....! I had no idea what it was like to live in an environment where there was absolutely no way to meet people -- Indianastan has been quite the education....! |

Actually I love it when things go over there head and they say what does that mean and I get ot say look it up in the dictionary......LOL.....I am me and will remain so, sorry if others have an issue with it......my yearbook said nice nice nice nice and sweet but I am getting sick of being nice....dunno maybe its bcs I am an observer by nature...guess it makes people uncomfortable

Yes, even 'beautiful Boulder' has become my 'Cave Period' ... For the first time my life has gotten vewwy quiet ... It once alarmed me, now, I realize I created this solitude for a reason and am exploring the very heart of it ... As if a divine prayer period ... Easier for me, as single parentdom almost dictates it, at least MY version thereof ... Thankfully, I had a VERY big life that preceeded this snow blind ... You are the fixer cuz you CAN help, you were both born w/ and also accrued that ability ... They CAN'T fix you, and you know it ... So you don't bother sharing ... I well know this drill ... I can rarely find anyone equipped to advise me, so I don't even bother to share ... I just accept it ... When I was lil, friends all guessed I'd be a psychiatrist or a clown ... Guess what ... Ding, ding!!! Yeah, both ... At least I learned to get paid and fulfilled by it as a clinician, makes it a GREAT exchange ... I think that is what your books are also ... Giving w/ a reciprocity ... And? You know you really do NEED to get outta there ... It is time! What is really holding you there? Better ... WHERE would you LOVE to relocate to??? PS ... You have enough college in the field, you could dust off the olde psych and get paid to listen ... Just a thought ... |

One of my old instructors (who was consulting me about several of her cases) told me a couple years ago that I have everything I need to jump back in and make a career of it. But I really don't want to do that anymore. I'd really like to spend the rest of my days listening to one person.... As to relocating -- given the opportunity, I'd go just about anywhere -- Siberia, Neptune, whatever. Anything's got to be better than Indanastan! |
