First thing I know I remember...

I recieve a phone call from my father, who I havent seen or talked to in a long time. Im 4 years old, hes telling me he cant wait to come see me at my 5th birthday party... He never showed up

I have other earlier memories but at this time I no longer know if they are real memories or if I only remember them from stories told about me when I was younger.

I remember my grandpa, god bless him, he used to buy me Reese's Peanut butter cups and hid them in his front pocket of his t-shirt. He drove me nuts teasing me saying the store was all out of them...when I could see the wrapper sticking out of his pocket.

I think I was about 3

I remember my grandmother teaching me to read when I was 2 -- she had a couple of those old schoolbooks from when my dad and my aunt were kids -- there was a particular story where the father takes his car to have some work done, and they put the car on a hydraulic lift. Sally, the daughter, is upset because she left her teddy bear in the car. The bear's name is Tim. I remember having some difficulty at first with the idea that Tim is not pronounced Time, because "I" makes an "I" sound. It took awhile for my grandmother to explain that vowels have different sounds. I remember we were sitting on her front porch when she explained this to me.

Yeah, Sally was their little sister. And Spot was the dog, and Puff was the cat.

See Spot run. Run, Spot, run!

Can't beat the classics....
