This Joy

Today, as I sat at the table with Mary and Miles, I was so full of thanksgiving. We looked at one of our favorite pictures of the three, Mary Miles and Hannah. So young they were. Happy, bright sparkly eyes. Sweet tender expressions of simplistic expectations. We spoke of the recent past, pain, hardships, missing and lost expectations as life has been growing each of us.

My children are no longer those babies I held in my arms. Who would have thought that they would surpass me in so many ways that matter the most. I am thankful for the life lessons we have experienced together as this family. It can only be expressed as God's blessings to us. Ease cannot always gift what we have when we are together.

It was wonderful, the only word that really expresses this joy.
