I have been having a lengthy discussion with a friend of mine regarding self confidence, or a lack of it.
We agreed that the best (and only?) way to attract other people is to be confident.

But what if someone lacks self confidence? Even if they're aware that they lack it?

So my question to you good people out there is;

*Where do you get confidence from??*

I look foreward to hearing your thoughts on the matter, from men and women.

Thanks

I got my self confidence from the military. You can't help but be confident when you are responsible for people's lives.

Self confidence...confidence in self, is derived from knowing one's self...the whole warts and all...and ACCEPTING the flaws, as well as the strengths.

When one stops looking outside themselves for validation, they learn to develop self validation....that's confidence....when you stop listening to everyone, and I mean EVERYONE else's opinions of you, (including your mum's)...you begin to develop confidence in yourself... in your decisions and actions, and your belief in yourself develops and flourishes....that's confidence.

It is not some magical mythical thing...most two year olds know it.:wink:

Yup, that's why kids always say "I wanna do it". A smart parent recognizes this early, and begins allowing the child to do for themselves. Then sit down, and watch them beam as they say, "I did it!"

I personally get self confidence by doing my best in everything I do. I am doing a great job at work and I know the work I am doing is too complex for my staff to work on. Knowing that gives me a lot of self confidence. happy

So, do your best in all you do and focus on your strengths. :smile:

If you need to ask, you aren't ready for the answers.

very true - and that sense of accomplishment will continue to feed confidence - as one moves forward
