The discovery Channel, the History Channel, movies, and now a new series about an alien invasion are all preparing humans on earth for the idea that aliens exist.
No scientist I know of will say for certain that we are alone in the universe. More than 75% of people today believe that UFO's are real, and that aliens exist. Records of Sky ships go back to the 1700's. Aliens..... exist. Does anyone doubt that? Do they look human? Are they among us? Are they friendly or are they planning on taking control of the earth? If and when they do.... will humans be their pets, their slaves or their food? |

Also movies. At this point they are simply doing their background work and getting people used to the idea of aliens so that when we discover that they are running the world we won't freak out.

How are aliens any different? There just has to be because there just has to is not sufficient in my eyes to equate scientific proof. People that believe in aliens are NO different than someone believing in God. |

People that believe in aliens are NO different than someone believing in God. Actually, there is a significant difference. Whether we have been visited or not (or whether we ever find it or not elsewhere), alien life is plausible, at least.

The proof of course, would be in the DNA. Some people say that all humans are "alien" to the earth or hybrids.
There is tons of evidence for the existence of aliens or extraterritorial visitation. At the very least, there is evidence for an advanced civilization existing before the rise of current civilization. Last night on the History Channel they proved that this advanced civilization new about flying. They took an ancient gold trinket of a small airplane and built a model and put an engine in it and if flew perfectly. They showed lots of evidence. That is what I am saying... they are preparing the public for the idea that aliens exist and maybe that they 'created' current humans or maybe that they live among us. Of course 'proof' is always a matter of belief. Proof of life on other planets does exist. Proof of an advanced civilization that knew how to fly (airplanes, airports etc) exist. It is highly unlikely that earth is the only planet among billions of other planets in this galaxy that has intelligent life. Also, they talked about how our forefathers who founded this country believed in aliens. |

That just proves that people don't look at the evidence. They just believe what they want to believe.
I suppose you believe that two drunk Irishmen with sticks on ropes created all the crop circles in the world. Or perhaps there is an entire secret crop circle organization going around in the dark of night creating elaborate designs in fields during rain storms. I bet you know who has been mutilating cattle all over the world too. I bet you have all the answers to all the mysteries in the world. I can't wait until YOUR book comes out. InvictusV, this thread was not intended to convince anyone that aliens exist. Most people are already convinced.
It was about how the general public has become convinced. It has been watching all the documentaries and listening to the evidence found with an open mind. If you have a better explanation for all these mysteries, I bet a lot of people would be real happy to hear it. So far, a person who just sits there and declares that they need more 'proof' isn't convincing anyone of anything. If you aren't convinced, then you are becoming one of the minority. |

I could convince the general public that Mars Attacks is a historical event with documented video evidence of the Landmark Hotel and Casino being destroyed by Martians. As with most of this stuff I'll gladly be in the minority.. The rational... sane minority. |

I am to believe that some incredibly intelligent form of extra terrestrial life that has mastered inter-galactic space travel has nothing better to do with their time than create pretty little pictures in some sheep herders corn field? That is just too much.. It is really hard to take this stuff, even for its comedic value, seriously. |

Science has stated that there are at least 10 dimensions. String theory proposes alternate universes. Until the mystery is solved, I will hold that some intelligence with some kind of advanced technology is responsible for crop circles. |
