Obamacare Now Estimated to Cost $2.6 Trillion in First Decade
http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obamacare-now-estimated-cost-26-trillion-first-decade_648413.html

Yep pass it so we know what's in it.
Everytime they read a little deeper the cost rises.
This fiasco needs to be repealed.

Gee to bad we spent all that money on a war (Lie) we could Have helped our own sIck ppl..

What we spent on the wars would no where come near the cost of the "Affordable Healthcare Act"
It doesn't bother that we were LIED to about the cost of healthcare?
Obama said it would be UNDER 900 BILLION.
the CBO just said it is going to cost 2.6 TRILLION.
But hey thats just a drop in the bucket.
IMO after the SCOTUS called it a tax the whole bill should be thrown out because our congress and president said it wasn't a tax.

the war in iraq was equally expensive,,we have yet to see what benefit it will serve the US,,,,

reform will take a significant investment, but I believe the longterm savings and benefit to Americans will make that investment more than worthwhile,,,,

they will fight this for a while, like they did medicare, but I am believing and hoping, that like medicare, the more USE people are able to personally receive from it,, the more solid it will stand,,,,

Wrong, it's only at half that a mount also wars have an end. This doesn't.
Also as long as healthcare is a for profit industry this plan is stupid.

IT would be interesting to assess what they include in 'total costs'... different 'sources' and thinktanks are anything but consistent in their figures

The cost of war has nothing to do wih this post.
Since the Affordable Healthcare Act was passed the cost of it has tripled.
We were lied to about it. But I guess that's ok.

the bill has been amended and added to a few times since its original inception and the CBO itself has updated ITS OWN estimates a few times since then as well...

those are called 'projections' they can only be determined with the available information

as more information becomes AVAILABLE, those projections can change,,,

What this is telling me is you don't have a good enough job to have healthcare as a benefit and thus not pay much taxes.

Paying more taxes so we all can have health insurance won't stop us from going to war. 2 total seperate issues.
My issue is the cost of the Affordable Healthcare Act has trippled from what we were originally told it was going to be.

it hasnt changed.. lets review the context,, FROM THE ARTICLE you linked

"A Senate Budget Committee analysis (based on CBO estimates and growth rates) finds that that total spending under the law will amount to at least $2.6 trillion over a true 10-year period (from FY2014–23)—not $900 billion, as President Obama originally promised.""

the original proposal was not over the SAME ten year period,,,

from a seperate source

The original gross cost estimate – at $938 billion over 10 years – was for 2010-2019. CBO’s latest $1.76 trillion estimate is for 11 years, ending in 2022.

The simple fact that she is using percentages. Most people wouldnt want to pay exorbant fees for things they get no benefit from. And lets forget that these systems are bankrupting other countries even when it is government run and not privately run. Feel free to get antibiotics for an antibiotic resistant staff infection because government healthcare doesnt want to pay for that test. ( met a guy from Canada with a whole in his leg from that). You find a way to provide it without raising my taxes or lowing the quality of my insurance or increasing its premiums and i will be all for it

most people I know in 'good' jobs already are paying a decent tax rate (percentage) and wouldnt mind paying more for a healthcare for everyone style health system...

I have faith that we will make it work,,,,
