Devian is the stark contrast of his devil father, Luther, who after centuries of hell dwelling has a shadowy tan complexion and a hard and hot feel about him. He’s tall, firmly muscled, with dark piercing eyes that have the power to hypnotically erase your mind to more easily seduce you under his control.

Devian, however, who is first generation vampire and the oldest of Luther’s bloodlust children, has the palest skin and is of medium height and build that is softer and colder to the touch. With brown hair painted in strands of golden hues, and eyes of azure crystals he can imprison any stubborn heart he locks them on too.

Knowing of his father’s primordial claim on Vita’s human spirit, Devian’s unquenchable thirst for her lifeblood puts him at odds with Luther’s patriarchal privilege. But, ever the arrogant and willful son, he begins watching Vita and waiting for his opportunity to strike as she wanders throughout Luther’s hellish kingdom looking for any kind face that will explain to her why she’s here in this place, and better yet, how she can escape.

Vita has no idea what the visions in her head are telling her as she lays asleep in her bed, her body rigid, pulse racing, breathing deeply throughout this same nightmare that keeps repeating itself. When she wakens the following mornings she can never remember what she saw throughout the nights before, but can distinctly feel the terror of the unknown as it hangs onto her senses pulling her lower and deeper into the abyss that reaches out for her with hands wide open!

Every night she’s afraid to close her eyes knowing something evil in the darkness is calling out for her, and it’s only when complete exhaustion overtakes her body while fear grips her mind does she involuntarily drift off to slumber. On this night, once again she finds herself wandering aimlessly through the heat and ashes, unsure of her destination but moving forward through the flames that surround her, but never touch her.

Then, in the midst of the deepest sleep, Vita feels she is being watched and opens her eyes to see it all, every evil imaginable to flash before her face, and suddenly out of the firestorm, Devian appears in front of her. And with laser streams of fiery flames reflecting off the sea of crystals in his eyes he ignites Vita’s pulse and blushes her flesh the first time he looks into her face and their eyes meet, his spell has been cast and Vita is no longer her own, nor will she ever return home to wake from this dream.

Devian is off limits to Vita while Luther lays claim to soul possession of her. But his link to her subconscious is proving to be a challenge for his father to gain control over his intended bride, as she refuses to submit to Luther, who still has a modicum of power over her as the Master of his realm, stubbornly she ignores his demands of strict obedience and stays within the reach of her profligate ruler, Devian, who now has her trapped within the confines of his private hell, where he alone can have his way with her, for now…
