Ok, this is an excerpt froma novel I started working. Initially I thought I'd make it a sequel to one I've already finished but I'm not sure yet.

Concord, North Carolina

North Carolina

Blood was everywhere, on the table, the floor, the walls; everywhere. Every step found a pool of blood; it was everywhere. Darkness swept through the sterile room until only the shimmering light from a single dying bulb that swayed to and fro as if it were on a pendulum left its straining mark on what his eyes saw. There was a man, sitting on a bench holding an infant. They smiled at each other as if the bond between father and son were entwined through their souls. The room grew darker until the shimmering light found a child, about eleven, sitting alone on the same bench. He had dark eyes and a menacing stare that seemed to pierce the heart of those who looked upon him too long. His dark hair and pale skin continued his eerie appearance; and his silence, his silence spoke volumes.

Darkness again.
A figure, cloaked in a dark colored over coat was walking away from the bench. There were two figures standing, waiting for the cloaked figure. One stood in an open space that resembled a high arcing window pane. The other stood just to the left of the cloaked man, holding what seemed to be a golden shaft. Their presence was frightening for some reason. The man who held the child spoke yet Jonathan couldn’t make out what he said. The cloaked figure turned ever so slightly and said, “In due time. I haven’t hurt you; yet”. The room suddenly went dark and it’s at this moment that he would awake.

Though there was faint hint of light, darkness seemed to reach every corner of the room giving it an eerie yet surreal quality to it. While stretching the broken sleep from her limbs, Morgan realized that Jonathan was sitting up. She reached up to rub his back and discovered that he was soaking wet.
“Was it the same dream?”
“Uh, yeah, sorry, didn’t mean to wake you”
“You didn’t”
Jonathan turned and looked at her. There was a hint of light that framed Morgan’s beauty, “go back to sleep, I think I’ll be up for a while”
“Are you sure?”
“I’m sure”

As Jonathan left the room, he closed the door so as not to disturb his wife with his noise and headed down the hallway towards their home office. So that he wouldn’t have to turn the lights on, he kept his hand on the wall to guide him through the darkness. The house was cool, with an easy breeze that found its way through the open windows upstairs. With the night sky illuminating the office ever so softly, he scanned the darkness the as if he were looking for something. He wasn’t though; he simply wanted to shake the fear of his recurring nightmare. He kept telling himself that he should be used to it by now however there was always new variations to it, like it was story slowly being told, torturing him with its demented and haunting pace. He was tired and exhausted from not being able to sleep through the night and had no idea if he would ever again. Finally frustrated, he took the laptop and headed to the family room down the hall from the office. He wanted noise and the TV would provide that as he searched website after website again to interpret his dreams. As he searched the various websites on the internet, he thought to when he first started having the dreams. It was the second night in the house. But it was different than the ones after. The first one wasn’t anything other than a typical dream that lingered for a day or so before he forgot about it.

The story has a good pace and the narration is extremely wonderful leaving the reader wondering about the future course of events in the character's life..........the eerie appearance and presence of the child and other two cloaked figures made it seem scary and supernatural.............and would give the readers a lot to ponder about until they read further..............Really honored to have read this let me know when you publish it..........the writing is simply wonderful but some places i know can be a bit more improved other than that it is really superb and will grasp the attention of the readers making them read page after page until they finish the book...........really wonderful..........let us know when you publish it

My life it isn't easy but i try to be the best i can be so i do not cry,
no more tears or broken mirror's I am who i am,
I am a fighter when it comes to justice,
I am a mother a good one at that,
how dare all of you for not believing in me,
I have been through enough pain and sadness,
yet you don't ever see me giving up on what i want to be,
I made my own dreams and accomplished everything on my own,
No family support after all these years i am still alone,
A single mom I am happy and free with just my kids beside me,
I do what i can and i do what i must because this is my life,
either you stand beside me and just let me conquer my dreams,
I do not want any more strife,
I can be someone's wife when i find mr. right.

Your drugs came first before your own family,
what were you thinking? I do not know.
Your daughter's looked up to you as you spoke,
now your stuck in a cell all alone you stupid dope,
They don't get any child support,
and now your crawling back wanting a place to stay,
Food for you to eat every day as i slave away,
you were always gone and you will be for good,
I don't need your damn drama we are doing fine now that your gone,
no you will not live with us again, you lost your chances being in my arms,
your no father or a husband in our lives you walked out on us,
deal with the choices you made but don't make us suffer because of what you became,
get a job and start to man up and fix your mistakes,
don't ever come knocking on my door again,
you will never be able to hurt me anymore i am done with your lies, and games.

You cheated on me so many times in the past,
the trust is gone so just kiss my white ***,
I don't need you can't you see we are to devine? We are one of a kind,
We were good to you because we loved you once and look what you did,
you hurt your own kids, that's not okay but we will be alright so have your self a very good night.

Peace

Relationships come and go,
Friendships stay in solid gold,
Find good people let them in,
Kick the bad to the curb,
Make them suffer and hurt,
Not everyone is who you think they are,
Lier's, player's and cheater's beware,
When you find a good man or women keep them close,
You got to let go of the past first,
Take your time to get to know someone it won't hurt,
Have some faith and just take some notes,
Not everyone can cause you pain,
Just make sure they are real and don't play games,
If they can't be trusted then lose them quick
Good friends will be there for you thin or thick,
They will come through when you need them to,
Friendship is something you earn,
Make sure to be someone's friend before you jump into a relationship again.
