So the krupa and I went to the annual Crabfest&Boat Show
in Depoe Bay, Oregon, about 5 miles south of us last
Saturday and here are some pics of the event.

So how many crabby patties did you guys eat?

We each had one crab, it was $18 :-)

Takes forever to eat those suckers.
Well actually, eating is fast, it is the
accessing the crabmeat that takes the time.

I had never done it, he had to show me how :-)

When I was a young teen we used to go crabbing. We'd fill an old bushel basket full of blue fin crabs. We'd carry the basket each holding a side while riding our bikes. Every now and then the basket might drop..... nothing sadder, and yet funny, as seeing all of those crabs scattering along the road if the top popped off or the basket was so old it fell apart You guys made me hungry looking at all of those crabs But you also brought back some fun memories, thanks for sharing the pics Soufie

Awww, what a great memory :-)

Many people catch their limit (10) of Dungeness
crab here daily, then cook them in ocean water
over a fire with all the driftwood that empties
onto this beach.

I would imagine, as a kid, the gathering of them
was as important as the eating of them :-)

looks like a lot of work, but i guess worth it!

I don't think I've ever seen a cwab body as that to be honest. Is there meat to be had inside that big old body section, or just goo mostly?

Spa day got me laughing~thanks again Soufie.

It was such a laid back and relaxing day.

Wandering the shoppes. Seeing the sights. Holding my woman's hand and just spending quality time with my girl. The crab and beer feast was just a part of it.

A wonderful day.....with my wonderful wench.

....and Geppetto....lots of meat in the body...and Soufie went straight up "Conan the Barbarian " with that crab hammer...I had crap all over me after her first couple of hits.

When I was a kid, we went to Galveston and caught blue crabs. We boiled them up in a #3 tub and sat around the fire all night.

Crabs are yummy the only problem is i dont know how to separate the crabmeat. My sister always do the deed for me.

I've never been to that event, but I've had crab on the Oregon coast several times. And of course Mo's Clam Chowder

We have one here to in Little River South Carolina.To much fun Blue crabs and other Sea food, hot sauce and of course cold beer! Heaven on earth for sure.
