So what is with Texas? They have a fast lane for the death penalty, and they want to ban abortion? I think they just don't want to run out of Texans.

No they wanted to ban post 20 week abortions. At least be honest about the topic. Sorry but you should make the decision before you are half way there.

Also if someone is on death row why should we pay to keep them in prison?

It's easy to judge, isn't it. However, there are people who go much further along in a pregnancy before they show any signs of it. There's a TV Show on TLC where they showcase women who deliver babies, not having known they were pregnant the day before.

Personally, I feel that the fetus's life is completely up to the mother, and none of the government's business.

Back to the OP, Texas is a nutty state, but that's what you get when Conservatives are left without adult supervision.

So Texas is trying to be "pro life" (as far as abortion is concerned) and yet pro-death penalty.

the great thing about texas is that if you don't like texas, you don't have to live in texas. as far as death penalty and abortion is concerned, texas is just like any other state in the union. people vote their choice and live with whoever wins. sometimes your vote choice is in office, sometimes not. sometimes your vote choice delivers on campaign promises, sometimes not. i guarantee i guarantee that even in your own neighborhood you will find people that disagree on such topics

Don't blame Florida for the spineless politicos it generates.

Jeb Bush put a permanent "shart" stain on the state!

The biggest problem is illegal voters and politicos who don't care to fix it!!

Yes I know that show. So do you suggest those women should have to option of aborting during labor? Very very few people really don't know at 20 weeks.

The bill would have placed such strict rules on clinics that there would not be very many places to go for an abortion.

But my point is why try to make it difficult for a woman to get an abortion?

For a state that brags about its death penalty, why get all nit picky about abortions?

Totally different. Unless the baby commits murder. People on death row killed people.

Well that's obvious.

I'm talking about the sanctity of life not about the excuses people use to kill someone or have an abortion.

Its not about the sanctity of life but of innocent life. Criminals are not innocent.
