MM:

of course there is an abuse of power, but that doesn't mean i'm going to dwell on it.. everyone wants to gripe, but nobody is doing anything about it...

No you don't need to 'dwell' on it but you might be a little more aware of it and how this kind of thing is eroding our privacy and our freedoms.

Instead, you go along with it, agree with it, and contribute to it, and even defend it.

You must have a lot of faith in your masters.

i'm perfectly aware of whats going on... i don't see the need to broadcast it at all... don't forget, NSA is watching, even in here...

Really? They must have an awful lot of employees. I wonder if they are hiring.

they employ 10,000's of people... look the the compound in austin, utah, langly,... just 3 that we know about...

Well they can afford it, since they print the money and gouge the people for every last cent they can get.

What they want is for at least 70% of the population to be working for and dependent on the system.

The rest will be rounded up and put into "work camps."

You can't change the past.., but you can change the present and the future..

Since the dawn of time.., there has always been "control" in societies.. I mentioned this much earlier.., but PLATO: THE REPUBLIC is a model used (and of course. modified) in many, many societies.. I'm not saying that I agree with everything that goes on.., because I sure don't..,

BUT...

I also understand why certain things aren't passed out to the general public.., because not everyone can mentally & emotionally absorb all the knowledge out there.. and you would have mass hysteria all the time, from those who don't..

The problem comes.., from when people in power disrespect/ take for granted... and "abuse" the power they have... I think both sides of the argument/debate here would agree..?

So... There are BOTH good things and bad things.., that arise out of advancing technology and communication.., It makes it easier for spying and what not, that goes against privacy..., but it also allows more immediate access to the general public for "some" of the underhanded stuff going on.., like Moe has stated..

I think both of you (Jeannie & Moe) appear to be intelligent people.., so I don't see why all the insults back and forth going on help either of you, with your stances in the discussion..? It reminds me of a sports forum, where posters are arguing over what player was better..and who should have been traded.., etc..

Everyone has their own opinion... THere are good points on both sides of your debates, if you look at it without all the insult slinging..

I suspect Mighty moe is secretly in love with me and that is why he stalks me constantly on this club.

I guess it's a possibility.. and his Initials "MnM" might mean he is younger and raps a lot.., which could give him good reason for being wrong..

Hey.. I was just trying to lighten the discussion up here, with a little comedy and by sharing a neutral perspective..

.. Sorry for intruding..

I just think you can both me rational, if you want to...

Wake up people, the Internet is there for you, do your own research on any of these government labelled "conspiracy theories" try stopping watching tv for a while. There is a reason Bradley manning is going to be in jail all his life for telling the truth, or Julian assange being in a foreign embassy in fear of his life for telling the truth....jeeze! WAKE THE F*** UP!!!!!!!

laugh whoa

yea, your right... the reason he's going to prison is for telling government secrets when he swore an oath not to...during war, no less
there is a chain of command the military uses that he could have tried, but didn't...

There were other people who, in the past observed their oaths to protect their "homeland" and followed the "legal" orders of their commanders.

Some of them were hanged for atrocities & war crimes at Nuremberg because they were "only following orders.".

no, your completely wrong... only like 11 top generals/high commanders were executed...i posted that article from wiki for you about a month ago... but feel free to look it up... you don't get persecuted in the military by following orders...

the only persecution is by the non-military idiots that cannot understand what its like in the military... the soldiers getting spit on by the loony liberals coming back from Vietnam... they were just following orders and they were persecuted not the military, but by the citizens...

Lemme get this straight with a hypothetical situation...You are a drone pilot following orders, and you are ordered to kill what you KNOW to be innocent people (even citizens of your own country) with a drone.

Which is treason, obeying or disobeying that order?

How is warrantless surveillance, invading the privacy of innocent people not a crime committed by the state?

Some people are too young to remember this but I remember when the term "homeland" was only used by communists (the enemy). We in America never used that term. It is like "Comrade" which was commonly used by Germans.

I don't know about anyone else, but I NOTICED IT when our government started using that term. I thought perhaps we had been covertly invaded by the enemy.

Nope,it is,or an equivalent, mostly used in the Armed Forces of most Countries!

And for the Russians under the Soviets,it was the Motherland, and before Mother Russia!

Mütterchen Russland(Little Mother Russia)

Homeland (Heimat,Heimatland) is actually a German expression,comes from Home-Heim-Abode.
