Was wondering about that myself..

Long ago, I had a LDR with a girl living 2000 miles away.. It took about 1-2 months until I flew over to see her in person.. We went direct from e-comm stage to that and skipped the phone..

I've met with a few people from here like 4 years ago when I was single. It went pretty quickly. Chats on here to try and get a decent idea about the person. Texting and stuff came once a certain level of comfort was achieved.

I've noticed a upward trend of people posting phone numbers on initial newcomer threads. It probably has the opposite of the desired effects. The internet is creepy as is. When communicating it is important to try and be as non-creepy as possible

I'm careful when i give out my number or any other personal information these days so it may take me little longer most understand some don't but oh well

I don't give my number out. No, reason to since there isn't anyone in my area that I would wanna give it to so far.

If we're talking to each other in novel responses it's time to take it offline, but it doesn't always happen. Depends on how comfortable they are with the phone. If they amuse me I'd want to talk to them outside the net.

A few month. I find it quite creepy if a guy gives me his number after just a few weeks. I also find Skype creepy. And if he gets impatient, he was never worth the wait anyway.

I say in two weeks if everything's cool I offer my number....

i now skype before giving my number to anyone, once I verify they are really who they say they are, then pretty quick, if they don't do skype....some other way to do a video call...

Why video calls just go on a date and mystery is solved or I guess some just meet....

yes if they are close enough, date for sure, in a public place, such as an amusement park(because hey if it doesn't work out, at least fun can still be had), but i'm talking for a LDR i'm not flying anywhere to meet someone without a video call

Well of course video chat is necessary for a ldr but something local I say just go for it....

I was very naive when I first started considering M2 has been my first time on a dating site. I gave my # & skype acct freely until it backfired with people who weren't themselves on profile & horny jerks who were blowing up my phone. Although I'm on the phone most of the time, I am very caution now of who I want to befriends with.

I have an open mind each person you are in contact with is part of your growth process...I don't hinder my growth....

Phone, email, anything aside from messages on the site ....... it truly depends on the way a person comes across. I had one ask me with in a few messages for email or Skype. I stopped responding to him after telling him no twice. If I have to have a form of trust to divulge personal information like that. Plus, I don't need things to be easier or quicker as he said his reasoning was ... nor do I feel the need to exchange photos so early on.

Voxer ..... any time. If someone has the app I will certainly give my info there.
