I have had the urge but,,,,,

So, just in terms of tact, do you think people should wait a while before starting a thread about someone's response in another thread?

for example, if someone had a thread disparaging republicans and one participant wrote something arguable and negative about what republicans stand for,,,

is it odd, or tacky, or just par for the course, for another thread to open immediately about how dumb people who don't support republicans are?

I Ask, because I see this often, and probably have done so myself, but when I see it I always feel like its kind of juvenile, so I try to catch myself when I get the urge to do so,,,,

do you giggle at the tit for tat rivaling threads? does it seem juvenile? or is it just par for the social forum course?

Much of what I see is inane puerile and jejune with really bad spelling. I think we all can get lowered down to that level

agreed

doesn't mean we cant try to do better though, and sometimes seeing behavior in someone else and how poorly it translates,, is a great motivator to change our own,,,

Agreed, but it depends on one's inner motivation. Does one feel better out shouting someone, or does one just SMH? One trait I see in people is that it is not enough to win, but they have to make sure the other knows they lost

I have learned to SMH much more often. I had to really self assess my reality of how others negativity and stress really drain and weaken me, and I don't like that feeling.

Its taught me to know when its just not worth it, SMH , and move on

most of the time anyhow,,lol

I think those of us who post regularly and know what's going on with each other's threads feed off each other. And that's a normal function between people communicating publicly.

It makes for better entertainment for those watching the forums and also provides various opportunities for people to post on one thread that might not feel comfortable posting on another. IMO.

Personally, I'm not that much into being snarky although I'm just as capable of doing it at times too.

As I see it, some people live miserable lives, and so, in order to cope, they look for another party to try to tear down. It is their way of trying to spread the misery.

really it is nice that you start a new thread rather than hijacking the original with lengthy argument posts! well done. I think that is what folk should do.

i think if you have something to say, say it.
before you start a thread you should already have thought of possible answers and should expect people not to agree with it and some replies so id say why move the arguement, people might not like what you say in all honesty hard cheese

if the argument diverts the original topic it is bad manners. if it is divergent it is a new topic. hijacking a thread is against the rules on most forums.

If the argument is on topic that is different. I don;t argue so I don;t pay much attention, but keep in mind that fighting is also against the rules

ah in most cases you are most always diverted from original topic, it depends on the context and how its put across for me to think of it as bad manners even then id still think each to their own and it would then be in my hands as to feed the fuel to them in most cases i do and add a smiley face or something  , i like a bit of banter, i tend not to take things to heart so in effect you could say that i dont pay much attention after all its just words nothing to have a coronary about.smile2

well if it goes beyond what is acceptable on here the mods will say something to you. Hijacking a thread is bad manners, but a few off topic comments is not. I could care less what you do. I was just letting you know the rules because you apparently have not read them.

haha see this is how arguements form from people's opinions laugh yeah sorry i didnt mention the hijacking did i (d'oh), as its nothing id look to do on purpose i agree its totally wrong,
slaphead alike most forms have rules and of course would expect a Mod disciplinary when out of line, i know you was letting me know the rules i did read thatlaughi think you are wrong in saying you couldnt careless what i do and you dont argue, or pay attention, well why quote in the first place if you dont  laugh i stated what i do in reply to what you stated what you do maybe should start another thread........do you really care what i do...... could be the question laugh ................in light of this you shouldnt take anything to heart you will see that generally my replies are all on the joking side............its all down to how the person understands the context.
laugh
