Hey All,

Any Aussies out and about if you're interested in the night sky have a look at the moon, it's about to eclipse Saturn.

Cheers

Yeah they should get a good view from the N.T., it's been raining here since just after I posted earlier, lol, tipical of what happens here when there's an eclipse of the sun, moon or a planet in the last few years.
I'm not sure how long the eclipse lasts for, it's possible by now it'll be already over where I am.
I got to see it go behind the moon though so it wasn't a total waste of time.

Pretty crappy photo & the only one I got between rain & wind problems, shows Saturn a few seconds before it went behind the moon.
No doubt around the web tomorrow there should be some good photos of the event.

AWESOME!

Thanks, I'd have said 'ordinary' as I wasn't all that happy with the shot, but I'll go with awesome drinker

Missed your post until now, sorry.

I like this one below better, from a clear full moon to the beginning, partial & maximum stages of a partial lunar eclipse.

Hey Mikey,

That above pic I just posted is from a couple of years ago, this coming Wednesday evening is the total lunar eclipse we see here, times for us in QLD here - http://mingle2.com/topic/412921

If it's not cloudy or raining you should have a front row seat where you are, would be cool to watch that over the ocean.

Cheers

Thanks, I'm just going through them now from tonight's eclipse.
The wind came up really strong out where I was and it appears it's caused the camera to shake on the tripod as nearly all of them look to be blurred.
I'd say the camera had trouble focusing properly because of the movement.

Here's a few from the October 8th eclipse, I'm not impressed at all with these, they are very poor quality compared to what I know the camera is capable of.
