Emotions are there for a reason. The happy ones and the sad ones. Joy and anger all have their purpose.

Believing you can choose to never cry, or believing you can choose which emotions you feel, is childish at best.
At worst you are going to end up sublimating the emotions you don't want to feel, or deal with, in harmful ways.

Life is too short to try and control every single emotional reaction you might have attempting to force yourself to only feel the "good" ones and that there must be something wrong with you, or that you are less of something, because you might actually feel something you don't want to.


Emotions aren't a reward and punishment system.
They are a means of communicating what's going on in your environment and life situation.
