After a hellish divorce process and now being settled back with my kids, work, health etc I decided to take the plunge into the murky waters of online dating.

I'm not a player, never had a one nighter in my life and am very intelligent and am told I'm funny (although I guess that's a matter of preference!!)

Why then do all these women who post that they are looking for just that type of person ignore messages.

Could it be that I'm not a premiership footballer living in Wilslow with a 9 digit bank account have anything to do with it?

Now I'm somewhat unphotogenic and only have the kids to take pics but I'm not exactly Shrek either.

So somebodies telling fibs here.............and it's not me cos I don't lie.

I mention it as a matter of fact. It was 'News Of The World' worthy.

As to mentioning women looking for the impossible, I think I'm correct in saying that. I'm a hopeless romantic so I know there's someonew out there but work/ kids/ life make finding them so difficult I think honesty is the best policy here.

ok tell us a joke....

All the jokes I know would get me banned or misunderstood. It's a strange world innit?

Sure you do. You lie every time you tell yourself this:

Could it be [women don't reply because] I'm not a premiership footballer living in Wilslow with a 9 digit bank account have anything to do with it?

Best of luck to you, OP!!! Hope you get over your pain from the divorce, soon! drinks

Oh I'm sure you'll find I have many comments to make. I'm kinda known for it.

As to those who wished me well getting over the divorce, do you have trouble reading or with your own self image?

The point I made is that I'm totally over the divorce, it was never about the divorce just the kids with which i'm now happily having a wonderful relationship with. But thanks for your concern. x

No problems with self-image and my reading skills are superb...some might even say too good for others' comfort levels.

For instance, I saw this right away...dang near jumped off the page, even:

After a hellish divorce process...

See...here's the thing...just about EVERYbody's divorce process is "hellish"; it's almost *like* the system MAKES it that way to ensure the people really DO want a divorce. However, no matter how "hellish" it is/was, eventually, we all have to get over it, to be able to move on.

You haven't moved on, yet...because you're not over it...because you're still mentioning it.

Oh, and I get the feeling you're pretty quick to anger, too. But, I'm probably wrong about that, too.

Again, best of luck to you here and in the real world. drinks

So, your ex got to keep the house, and apparently your testicles in the divorce.
.
Best of luck anyway.

I agree again. We all had some grieving to do. Most don't put this as the first two sentences in their profile:

Hi...Hurt but ready try again. It's gonna take someone special.

Denial. Then there is that huge "but" also.

Sounds like you should probably take the recommended two years off to find yourself and come to terms with betrayal and "hurt". JMHO.

I seem to have started some sort of debate with all kinds of views being expressed.

Although I'm new to the online dating scene I'm very well known on the internet as a 'Flamer' (look it up) and am used to having to explain to tinfoil hat wearing wannabees how to put one foot in front of the other and remembering to breathe......... so let's start again shall we?

Yes divorce is hellish and when the kids are used as a weapon it's even more so. I however am in a great place in my life and am incredibly happy so don't try to deflect your own butthurt situations on me.

The point I made was quite simple and I'm pretty sure I wrote in English.

Women on dating sites lie or shall we say have altered perceptions of what they propose they are looking for and what they actually fantasise about.

From what I hear, most blokes just want to send porn shots of themselves which is also a mystery to me.

The internet is one of the strangest nightclubs going.
