Perhaps an opinion from a black woman who has had this experience is needed here. First, race DOES matter, anyone who thinks it doesn't isn't seeing the world clearly. Second, you might be totally in love with each other and that's great. The problems come in not with each other but with society (and sometimes friends and family) not accepting it. This can put a strain on the relationship. It's possible that the strain can tear you apart in the end. The world can be cold and people can be cruel. The real question is "Can they handle it"? It takes two incredibly emotionally stable people who are totally committed to each other to navigate through the added pressure that racists can put on you. I agree with both your stated facts' and your opinions. Everytime I have read a topic of racial relationships' here it has always been directed towards blacks' and cacausions'. People complain about relationships that are the same colour, but from different countries. It has only really been an issue through the second millinum A.D. this problem exists. White's, black's all colours were slaves at one time in human history. If you find someone attractive you find them attractive, color is not going to stop you from intercourse; so why should colour stop a relationship. I personally do not see families as tight as they once were a few decades ago and divorce court certainly gives lot's of statisitic to support the failing family - these days'. Even if two individuals are of the same race family may still disagree to accept this person. It is behaviour! Personally if I find a woman of a different colour attractive and I like her personality, I am not going to say her colour will interfer with a relationship. To bad if a cacausion person did not give my heart all the comforts that a black person has given it. North America is a multi cultural society (supposed to be) - how can we as mature adults' with the abilitiy to comprehend each others emotions - find interracial relationships offensive - if we do not accept people for whom they are. We support different races in sports, business, etc. when their is a benifit to satisfiy the "I.D." (pleasure part of us) of our personality.

I have dated black women and tend to prefer them. I have friends and family who are racist, but we've always managed to work through it. I prefer to date women outside of my race who have dated outside theirs because its not always something for newcomers.

Race shouldn't matter but it still does. As for me, if you're a good person, kind, caring and warm, I'm going to like you for that and not what "color" your skin is.

I dont think that race should matter but i do believe in what some like others may not. I personally have always loved and been very attracted to white men. I was probably one out of 5 black children in the town I grew up in until high school. I use to think that something was wrong with me even as I got older. My friends would make fun of me so eventually I would force my self to date within my race but then I finally realized in the end I need to be happy and physically attracted to that person.

all humans are simply souls placed in a variety of different containers. those that see past color, will create the future. those biased by color, will create the worst past again. tis better to create a grand future for ALL, than to recreate a failing past of but grand for some.
