Catholics...have Good Friday and Ash Wednesday as days of obligation...which basically means, fast and abstinence. Fast from morning to night...sun up/sundown, nothing to eat or drink, especially red meat/any meat.There are no penalties if you kinda bend the rules a bit. Personally, I do the fasting thing, but I drink water now and then, especially if I am working. Forty days leading up to Easter is also a period of fast and abstinence . But you are obliged...here again no rules, to give up things you like and donate the money you save ... I normally give up watching TV, drinking, entertainment of any kind, steaks and some women...ha ha... |

I normally give up watching TV, drinking, entertainment of any kind, steaks and some women...ha ha... very very interesting.. we have got "ramadan" month 30 days every year but that 30 days period move backward 10 days every year sun rise / down but no no no eating, no drinking, nothing !! 1 sip of water finishes the whole days fasting.. it is easy in winter when the days are short, but lately it corresponds to Summer season when the days are longer than 12 hours.. i do not do fasting myself, but appreciate the patience of the people who does it. |

little potatoes , veggies , finely cut chicken breasts...all baked to perfection, served with couscous and a little bit of spices...and for dessert, slices of cheese cake from a 6 variety tray...Had the minimum two...all courtesy of my ex....Easter Dinner with immediate family only...
