My question is: Why is it that the word of God "you stated above" from the old testament repeatedly written in the new testament.?

I want to share a very interesting conversation that took place between JESUS and the Jews, as recorded in the book of John Chapter 8:48-59 as reproduced below:

48.The Jews answered him, "Aren't we right in saying that you are a Samaritan and demon-possessed?"
49. "I am not possessed by a demon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.
50. I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge.
51. Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death."
52. At this they exclaimed, "Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that whoever obeys your word will never taste death.
53. Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?"
54. Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me.

Please note JESUS' statement in verse 58. When God said in Genesis, "Let us create man in our image", JESUS was there!

That's also why the Bible explains that nothing was created without Christ and that HE (JESUS) is the beginning and the end. JESUS has co-existed with GOD the Father and God- the Holy Spirit from the very beginning and is God. JESUS is also referred to as the Word of God. HE is the same LORD of the old testament as HE is of the new testament. Fundamental difference is that HE has shed HIS blood as the ransom for mankind. Salvation is now therefore through HIM alone. The blood of bulls and lambs will no longer cleanse sin, as happened in the old testament. Instead of the blood of animals, JESUS laid down HIS own life once and for all and allowed HIS blood to be poured out for man's sins. To achieve this, HE had to take on human flesh and be crucified and resurrected.

I am living with the Jewish religious people and there are times that i am joining with some of there gatherings and there are some questions that comes to my mind. Why the Jewish concentrated with the old testament. I am become observant to them and i do want to learn more about there belief.

That is because Jesus and the Father are one "God". And Genesis 1 is a "summary" of creation. Is why Genesis 2 says almost exactly same thing genesis 1 does, just in more detail.

Genesis 2
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,

Notice "Lord God" made.

Amen!! That's why it specifically says "let US create man in OUR image". "Our" automatically shows their is more then one beings present.

And yes Jesus was there, as why in chapter 2 of genesis where it repeats but goes into more detail then chapter 1 it says LORD God did this, LORD God did that. For that is Jesus Christ, for he is the only LORD God. And also why Jesus never refers to his father as ours, always just says "his" father this, his father that. Also same with God, Jesus says while he is on the cross "My God, my God, why.."
