Back in 2013- Nick Loeb (a trust fund baby) & actress Sofia Vergara (of Modern Family show), agreed as boyfriend & girlfriend to use in vitro fertilization & use a surrogate to have children.
They both agreed & signed a form (contract?), stating that any embryos created through the process could be brought to term only with both parties consent.
It did not specify, as California law requires what would happen if they broke up. Which they did. He then filed a Complaint in Santa Monica California.

Nick Loeb, (somehow) persuaded the New York times to let him write an 'opinion' piece, dated April 30, 2015, called ...

Sofia Vergara's Ex- Fianc: Our Frozen Embryos Have A Right yo Live
by times.com/2015/04/30/opinion

Since the New York times opinion piece & wanted & unwanted attention & much to Sofia Vergara dismay, her ex boyfriend is still talking about it. And there are other articles & opinions & other similar cases.

The last & latest article- May 6,2015 , another opinion piece....

This case ^^^^ just annoyed me.

1- First off, im against in vitro fertilization & surrogatecy. I don't believe just because we CAN do something scientifically , medically, that that means.... we should.

2- This was not a married couple. If they went to all this trouble planning & wanting children & were living together.... get married for the sake of those future children. Lots of adoptable children in the world.

3 - Both are wealthy fools for not consulting lawyers & signing the proper documents.

4- This guy sounds like a wealthly control freak to me. With a major case of " sour grapes "

5- The New York Times NEVER should allowed him to write that piece.

6- I don't think he has a ' legal leg' to stand on,despite his lawyer citing 10 other cases.

7- I hope Ms Vargara sues everyone & has learned her lesson, that no matter who we THINK we are. We can NOT have it all.

rant

It would appear, that dood is playing the game
of CYA, to prevent the ex gf from having any future
grounds to file a child support claim.

Gotta love self interest.

.

From all that I read on these two, it really gives the impression that he was trying to 'force her' to get pregnant, while they were together. *Which may be why she handled it this way ... no obligation to him. I haven't seen anything that even implied she couldn't carry or that he wanted a particular sex, which is why some couples do it - to have a son*

In one of the above links, where he filed the claim for SOME of the embryos * sounds bizarre 'some'... only TWO were viable * , he states that he would " never seek child support".

But seriously, what does he think he could do with them? Implant them in a future girlfriend? Hire a woman to carry & deliver them & say " here you go "

.And her, she is certainly not going to use them, he is not only her ex. but after living with this guy. She would then be as crazy as him, if she did. Making more crazy.

This isn't the price of fame, it's the price of selfishness.
They chose all this.
