this picture is of a bunker that was built around Kiev to defend against the germans in ww2 the big one. It was manned by a crew of gunners, who singlehandedly fought to defend thier country, thier families thier homes. This particular bunker was manned by a crew who fought until they starved to death. Without support. without communications, in the face of a tenatious, trained enemy they stood firing for weeks after the adjoining pillboxes were overrun or destroyed. Thats war, Liberals.

the ruskies lost over 600,000 in this battle alone, the Germans over 300,000. Most of the ruskis names are not known to us today, like those in this bunker as they wernt issued nametags. some were civillians also. The silent hreoes of a forgotton time. Can you imagine fighting in this bunker, large shells hitting it, your starving, you dont know if your family is still alive, if you will ever eat again, the smell of death and excrement in the air and at your feet..in the middle of a siberian winter with no heat, facing death and dismemberment every minute of every day, ect?

if you can look at that picture and knowing the story, not understand that war is wrong and anything done to shorten the path to victory is good, you arnt much of a person.

We can hope that one day war will no longer be necessary and people can live in peace and protect this beautiful planet called earth.

Perhaps we can learn a lot from history.
... excerpt from article in ref to WWII:

Adolph Hitler wanted more land, especially in the east, to expand Germany according to the Nazi policy of lebensraum. Hitler used the harsh limitations that were set against Germany in the Versailles Treaty as a pretext for Germany's right to acquire land where German-speaking people lived. Germany successfully used this reasoning to envelop two entire countries without starting a war.
Austria: On March 13, 1938, Germany took over Austria (termed the Anschluss) - a contingeny specifically disallowed in the Versailles Treaty.
Czechoslovakia: The French and the British handed Germany a large portion of Czechoslovakia at the Munich Conference in September 1938. Hitler had then taken the rest of Czechoslovakia by March 1939.

Why was Germany allowed to take over both Austria and Czechoslovakia without a fight?

The simple reason is that Great Britain and France did not want to repeat the bloodshed of World War I. They believed, wrongly as it turned out, they could avoid another world war by appeasing Hitler with a few concessions (such as Austria and Czechoslovakia). Great Britain and France had not clearly understood that Hitler's goal of land acquisition was much, much larger than any one country.

- We were lucky back then, I believe we will be again.
