it was an unseasonably warm fall up here..even after Halloween we still had a few trees with leaves on them

November did not really feel like November
was hard to get into the spirit of things
without that cold and brisk football game weather

as far back as I can recall
the kids in school always looked forward to
spotting those first few snowflakes flitting around
in the air..

when we finally got our first real snowfall a few days ago
it melted as soon as it hit the ground
but it was white and pretty
for the first time
I felt like getting in the car with my son
and going Christmas shopping

by the next morning there was a blanket of white
on the trees and the cars and rooftops
and we looked out at it in the morning
and smiled

what can I say
it's a northern thing happy

yes it is all fun and games until you or somebody else slides .. into your car... not to mention all those people that don't know how to drive in poor weather conditions... not pointing the finger at the people with the dot on their forehead..no no..wink wink.. just people in general.. may they be from Asia Malaysia the Philippines.. Somalia... any place they don't really have snow basically...yup..
I don't like being everybody else's crash test dummy..laugh  slaphead

And did I leave out the lack of the city's attention to plowing the roads..
The deep ruts that get carved into the hard packed snow... then when they do plow the roads finally .. they either bury the sidewalks are box in your vehicle..
. Quick !they're plowing the street run out and move the vehicles.... grrrr.. and then there's always the hard pack snow on your own sidewalks.. if you are like me and live in a high foot traffic area... if I'm not out there.. at 5 o'clock in the morning by 7:30 in the morning they have packed it all down like cement...grrrrr..

I usually love the first snowfall of the season. This time it dumped 16" on us last Saturday. That was a bit too much

It is fun, nice, and pretty to look at until I have to close roads and freeways, because people forget to slow down and drive for weather conditions. I do enjoy and even find empty wide open parking lots and practice my spin outs and winter driving. Just remember to allow extra time and be careful out there!

We very seldom get snow in my part of SC and I honestly do not miss it. I think if I were younger I would. I was Massachusetts born and raised, I feel like I have seen and shoveled and driven in my share lol

very light flurries here a few days ago. I suspect that will quickly change after Thanksgiving.

Whinging f@rt ...

But seriously ... getting up at 5 to clean up a bit of snow?
I wanna see pictures of what you're dealing with to get an idea. I live in the Netherlands, in the west of it (east part gets more snow). Last time I've seen knee-deep snow, was erm ... could very well have been 35 years ago surprised

So show us your ordeal! I'm curious
