Instead it was up to backup quarterback Brock Osweiler to take on Tom Brady and the then undefeated New England Patriots in a true thriller of a game on Sunday night football. The weather didn't help Osweiler with snow falling often heavily for the entire game. Osweiler's performance thorough out the game made it hard to believe he was not a starter. Tom Brady and his New England Patriots also played well through most of the game and forced it into overtime. the game ended when Anderson scored a touchdown for Denver. handing New England its first loss of the season.
