I never thought it did matter. But, now that I'm finding out so much about him. And Our differences. We can't make it. I gave & gave and fought so hard. Damn.

once upon a time..a man was married with three kids and a wife of 15 years who was the same age..the fun had long since gone from his life. He worked the same job he had been working for years, drove the same ole pick up truck and stopped at the same bar every friday night after getting paid..

his life had become mundane, hum drum and ho hum yawn

along came a new person in the office, a young, vibrant, peppy secretary
who laughed at his jokes, told him he was funny, smiled at him, said good morning to him and brought him his coffee. She did not roll her eyeballs at his sense of humor or tell him " ya you have told me that story now like a hundred times." She did not tell him " for god sakes man quit pestering me and go golfing or something would ya". She nodded her head and listened attentively to his stories of bass fishing and the deer he bagged last season. She ooooohed and ahhhhed at all the appropriate times, she leaned in as if mesmerized by my his every word.

fast forward to this man leaving his boring hum drum wife and kiddies to shack up with this much younger divored young woman with a daughter who just really needed a stronger, older, wiser man to come into her life and set her on the right path..help her figure out her budget, her finances, dig her out of credit card debt, and gently remind her " now sugar dumpling remember when you go to the mall you cannot buy everything you see" She was firm and fun and reminded him of what it felt like to be alive again. He traded in the ole pick up truck for a new powerful and quite expensive sports car for the two of them to buzz around in on the weekends.. The sex was phenomenal though at times his back kind of hurt the next day and he needed a day or two of a break and was not sure he could keep up on her twice a day, every day needs.

She loved to do things, go places like fancy restaurants, expensive shows, and said " how she always wanted to travel." She said that it really wasn't necessary anymore for her to keep her silly little secretarial job now that they were together and his father was the owner of the company and he would soon inherit as soon as the old fart " kicked the bucket." She took him shopping and put him into skinny jeans, got him jogging and eating more fruits and vegetables. She also got him on Viagra, made him get his hair cut and said how she hated the whiskers on his chin which he had when they met and so now he was shaving his face sometimes twice a day or she would say " eeeewwwwww picky."

She never drank coffee in the morning because she was just naturally a morning person and did not need that 'stuff just to wake up". She did not cook but bought a lot of pre-made salads and pre-cooked chicken breasts. She did not watch tv because that was for lazy people and she did not read books because " uh why should I read, I already graduated high school " bigsmile He could not remember the last time he sighted in his rifle, sat on his back porch and looked at the night sky or drank his favorite brand of beer because anytime he picked up a can of it she would tell him " ya know beer just makes you gassy so there will be no touching this body if you drink that." God forbid he turn on the country channel on the radio..or he would catch an earful of " gross that is old people music" and he hated to admit that sometimes that loud, thumping dance mix stuff she was always playing kind of gave him a headache.

lately it's been easier to just encourage her to go out with all her friends on a friday night because sometimes after working all week and coming home and listening to her endless chatter ( what was she a wind up doll?) he began to feel like a bobble head from the nodding and saying " uh huh, oh really and how interesting" a million times and was frankly, exhausted and could no longer keep up and who in their right mind wants to get up on a saturday morning after having morning sexors and go for a run??? no that would not feel exhilarating unless by exhilarating ya mean feels like a heart attack noway

I was left wondering what happened to the ol' step side pick up truck, quite rare these days.

I think age only matters to those that it matters to.

my point is just because it is new and bright and shiny in store

does not mean it will keep its' sparkle over time

it's kind of like vacation

it's great once or twice a year
but if ya stayed there ..doing same stuff over and over

it would lose half it's charm and just become your life

ahhhhhh biggrin

sometimes that age gap tends to rear it's ugly head after being together for awhie

can some couple ride it out so to speak and make it for the long haul? you betcha but it does come with it's own unique set of challenges

Age maybe just a number to some, but it is an important number when it comes to relationships. Can't see me dating a woman half my age, well I can picture the hottie, but I can't see the dating part going anywhere, I wanted it to go...
