I agree it has a lot to do with choices you make. You make those choices how you life is going to be. Is it laid out in such a way that no matter what you do what will happen is going to happen?.. some say it's about your choice.. but your choices determined the outcome.. is the outcome already pre decided |

It's amusing how people sound so sure of their definition of destiny when the truth of it is that no-one really knows for sure. Too many people think far too hard about the future. All we can do is live in the present and decide what you want to do with the options available to you and act on it.

You overslept ..your 10 min late for work because you watched a rerun of The Walking Dead.lol. you jump in your car and speed towards work.. your boss calls you.. says he won't be in has food poisoning.. you slow your speed.. go through a green light.. And get hit by somebody running the red light.. sooo.. fate,? destiny ?coincidence ?or just sometimes s*** happens? Again I feel the topic is not related to luck or fate. It is the destiny of a person, an achievement or something which is special and I feel food poisoning or accidents don't qualify as destiny. Now events that happen to us are due to choices we make like watching a movie so became late or eat something unhygienic so food poisoning, etc. |

Almost everyone at some point of their life, some or the other way wants to know their future, their destiny. |

we are human beings. we have brain. of course we will think, we will tend to believe some things, we will discuss it with the others.. maybe our ideas will change in time. we will sometimes lose our beliefs totally then believe in totally different things.. that is our being human being and using our brain as we are supposed to do.
i like it when people have got ideas. right or wrong, at least that brain is working.. as they say: here is the brain. use it. |

I do believe in destiny. I also believe, as one person mentioned earlier, that we all have various roads and paths to get to that destiny. In fact, there may be many different destiny points...all dependent upon the roads (and work) you put into where an individual truly wants to be.

My dad always said that every person's destiny is already written and events happen around to reach that goal. But I feel it is more of our choices which lead us to our destiny. What do you think? Bingo! I too believe in: (a) Destiny (b) Everything in life is pre-written (c) Everything in life, happens for a 'reason' Albeit I 'believe' in the above issues, I admit my 'consummate' acceptance of the fact that 'one should give in one's best efforts in any endeavor.' If 'we' left everything to 'destiny', without making an 'honest' effort on our own part, perhaps, it wouldn't have been so 'beautiful' a world. On 'second' thoughts, it occurs to me, that 'giving in one's best' OR 'abstinence from making an effort', is perhaps, one's 'destiny'. I dunno.. Jimmy, you 'stumped' me.   I know..I am the best right

So does destiny apply to the Animal Kingdom.. for instance if I go out onto my front yard right now! and put my foot through that very large ant hill..
That the ants are building on my lawn.. .. would it be a case of it was my destiny to go out there and stomp on them.. or was it their Destiny to build the ant hill on my lawn.. so I could go out and stomp on them.. lol... either way some ants are getting stomped on..lol.. Destiny's a b****.. |

Destiny's a b****.. Man you really want to stomp a ant hill Animal's life is very simple - food to eat, partner to mate, shelter to live, reproduce and die. Destiny doesn't play any role with them, it is we humans who are ambitious and achievement oriented so destiny comes in picture here. Let me give two examples here 1. if someone throws a stone on a tree, it hits a bee hive and you are victim of the bee revenge then you would say how unlucky you were not that you were destined to bee revenge]. 2. If a guy wins a million dollar in a slot machine and then he starts many other charity missions with that money, then we will say he was lucky to win but destined to help people. Winning that money was a step to reach his destiny. I guess it make sense now

so if not destiny... then why do we meet...
certain people in our lives ... we say either we learn from them ... move on from them ... stay with them ... like every one in your life right now... has thier own purpose... if not destiny then what is it ... that we have met them ... choice is good but personally don't believe... this has anything to do with destiny... unless you believe destiny put you ... right where you are now ... and or you have the choice... to get out of this ...
