I asked my 24 yr old neighbor, mother of two, " Do you having any writing or tablet paper?"

She tilted her head like a dog, & said, " You want what? "
So I replied, " I need to write a thank you, it is protocol ".

She adamantly shook her head & said ' No, we don't have anything like that, just send a text' & rolled her eyes & laughed.

I held my tongue. Because I was very tempted to ask, 'Do you know what a mailbox is?'

I walked away & went out & brought more ' thank you cards'.

People still appreciate being acknowledged & a personal touch.

Along the same line Sassy... which I totally agree...
About a year ago I got heck for missing a wedding in the family.
I didn't attend. I had no clue there was a wedding period.
When I stated that I hadn't received an invitation..
The response was this..

Well if you would get on facebook you would have known the details.
She posted it all over Facebook...

Here is another example.. I love embossed stationary I can't help it I love the stuff.

At the airport they had some beautiful embossed notecards and envelopes so I was oohing and aahing them. My daughter looked at me and informed me.

At the grocery store I was complaining to a checker outer
that I never got carded anymore, like the gal just
ahead of me.

She said "Oh we never card the little old ladies" seriously
I looked around to see to whom she referred.

Yup..me.
I have been in shock ever since.
