So I'm a huge music fan, punk and new wave are still frequently played in my house. Lots of other as well though. I was listening to soft cells "tainted love" this morning and was thinking that I never really get tired of it. I was 10 when it came out and remember loving it back then. What are some of your 80's favorites?

Queen, of course. All their songs.
Kiss, all their songs.
Bon Jovi, all his songs.
Sting
Phill Collings
AC/DC
Sex Pistols
Depeche Mode
Tears for Fear: Sowing the seeds of love
U2: Still haven't found...
Yazoo: Situation
Gap Band
Stevie Wonder: superstition, Sir Duke...
Eric Clapton
So many more... I mainly listen to 80's music if I don't want to hear their Rap shoved helter-skelter in any kind of song they can think of nowadays.
Linkin Park's In The End is about the only Rap I can stomach but for a couple of others that don't come to mind right now.

I love the 80's! What's fun is looking up the old MTV broadcasts on Youtube. Fun stuff! Because I still remember these videos, this is my list of 80's favorites:

"Whip It" - Devo
"Rapture" - Blondie
"Planet Earth" - Duran Duran
"She's a Beauty" - The Tubes
"When Doves Cry" - Prince

Anything from Tears for Fears, but a favorite we used to play in a punk band was "Change". When I used to sing!

You were my thrills, you were my pills
You dropped a bomb on me
You turn me out, you turn me on
You turned me loose, then you turned me wrong
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me (But you turned me out, baby)
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me

Yes, I remember a lot of the 8o's music. I was in high school at the time. I listened to the radio almost all the time. That was better than MTV. My stations were from New York and Philadelphia. I still remember a lot of the names of the DJ's.

I'm a huge Devo fan, unfortunately I never saw them. Recently bought quite a few original pressings, I couldn't help myself. Gonna hang them on the wall, too cool to be hidden!

I still have a few cassettes I recorded from the radio, maybe 85-86. At the time I was still into rap. It was from a D.C. Radio station. I have managed to keep most of my cassettes, the ones that weren't stole or lost in moves, just can't let go!

Listening to the radio and this song on air.

Dan Fogelberg..... Longer
Found myself singing this lyrics.

Longer than there've been fishes in the ocean.
Higher than any bird ever flew.
Longer than there' ve been stars up in the heavens.
I 've been in love with you.

P.S

I was a hopeless, gone- case, incurable Romantic.
Well.... Still am...flowers

Makes me think of a song by the band Bouncing Souls- chorus of the song goes- I'm a hopeless romantic, you're just hopeless.

80's music. LOVE IT!!!!

I have over 3,000 songs in my collection. There is a small percentage of 60's, 70's, 90's and a couple recent songs. But the vast majority is from the 80's.

I'm glad I can tell you guys that. There is no way I can tell my dates. They want someone whom likes up to date crap.

The 80's music had everything. MTV. Simple, creative, stupid, awesome videos! Artists were trying all kinds of different stuff. Now music is so "enhanced" that anybody can sound great. Or, you can't tell what they are saying.

Hmmmmm. Martika - Toy Soldiers just came to mind. Take a listen.

I definitely like the Carpenters. They just barely slide into the 80's though.
