Thanks for reminding me of the nightmare... grumble

I prefer Built in's over pre fab myself. typically makes the place look a little nicer.

My 2 cents.

Mmmm, spent about 35 years doing flips, so
remodels seem so easy :-)

Designed and built 2 houses (with crew of course)
and I think I have one more in me, complete with
lot..so what are you remodeling?

I've had to do a ton of work on houses I've lived in. Plumbing, drywall, framing, insulation, siding, re-roofing, like that.

What are you referring to?

Spent 20+yrs in that field myself and never played a game of golf lol .

If I understand you, you are asking about using prefabricated cabinetry in a kitchen, as opposed to custom building cabinetry to fit the exact space. If that's the case, there is no question that custom built will look and work much better, assuming a real cabinet expert makes everything, and they also are excellent at ergonomic design.

The problem is, that it costs a bazillion dollars to get that kind of work done.

Prefabricated stuff comes in different levels, so you need to do a lot of looking before you buy. Some materials are better than others, and I have heard that some manufacturers will actually come close to allowing you to give detailed dimensions of the cabinets you need, and then will make them to fit almost exactly, thus coming closer to the expensive stuff.

Thanks

I was looking to replace my built in's now but I like the space it provides . So maybe a strip and paint will do .
