Questions someone gave me there number and said I could Tex them, out in Calafirnia, not sure if that's safe. Also I'm suspicious of men who claim they are widowed, I know some might be, but I have seen some who are obviously scammers . Must be a go to claim to play on our sympathys?
Also what is the guys who message you and you find they were deactivated? Were they scammers?
And how do guys think a lady can become intrested in them with out any info in there profile?

Good questions, and I'll be interested to hear the answers.

I look for the broken English thing - which is not always fair - you never really know, but it's a clue.

Recently learned it's likely best to ignore the ones who just send out a Hi/Hello ... most times they are not serious about actually getting to know you.

If someone contacts me from far away, I don't respond - unless it's a friend from the forums. There is no way I'm getting involved - so no need to start it.

I've heard they can send a virus via text - I don't know if that is true.

Good luck!

If you request to stay on site to exchange emails, those that are genuine will usually be OK with that, it is those that want you to contact them by other means in their first email that I strongly suspect to be less than genuine.

Welcome to Mingle2 and good luck in your search.

It's complicated.

First, you need to do some research, and get a better understanding of how your technology works.

For example, when you text someone, you do more than send them a short message. You also supply them with your personal cell phone number. That can be fine, once you get to know someone well, and trust them, but for a complete stranger, you risk that they will do anything from sell access to you to others, including hackers who can steal important information from you, to driving you to get a new phone number at great expense, because they harass you day and night.

The next general thing to realize, is that anything can be abused, or used to trick people, including all the same things that honest people use, to better get to know each other.

Shady, well that's LeSean McCoy's nickname. I had to make a joke. slaphead

Texting anyone within the 1st little bit of contact with your phone, not the best idea.
Forum posters are a way to avoid possible scammers. waving
