A Mingle2 user keeps asking me for my email.
We've only exchanged 3 messages. We don't know each other.
Is there any danger in continuing contact by personal email?

I wouldn't give out my email. If you feel uncomfortable, then that's all that matters.

There is NO reason for anyone to want to message you outside of this site unless they are READY to meet you face to face and even then, a simple phone call will the trick so yes, there is danger there.

Don't give out personal information to strangers.
It is free to message each other here on mingle. Once you go to off site
Mingle2 cannot protect you.

Mingle2 automatically sends two must-read emails to all members. Please read them if you haven't done so.

To make the most of your experience here, please follow these simple guidelines.

1. Be safe. Everything you need to contact people is available on the site. Be suspicious of people that message you and want to talk to you offsite via phone, email or IM in their first contact with you. These people are sometimes scammers who try to convince you to give them money.

The danger of course is very real. Never give out any personal information to anyone online unless it is someone you absolutely know. Tonight A girl messaged me and said she is uncomfortable chatting here and wanted to text instead. I simply replied I only chat here and I heard nothing from her again. Proof she was not on the up and up.

As someone who has been almost caught several times, I strongly recommend never giving anyone your email unless you are totally confident that they are whom they say they are, and that they are totally on the level with you. Be sure they live in your country, that they are not after any money from you, and also, that they are first and foremost honest. The first step I take on ANY website is to NOT look for anyone who is looking for an email address. They are almost always con merchants. If they ask you for your email address before getting to know you, don’t trust them. Yes, you’ll get lots of images of someone whom is VERY convincing, and that person will seem very real, but they will soon say something like “I need money to a) get home, b) get something or someone home.
Each time the story will be different, and that is the problem. They will try to win your confidence. If they are whom they say they are, they will not be afraid to go to video talk with you, or meet you in person. Unless they do, my advice, don’t trust some one you have not met, or seen on video.
