Absolutely.
If I'm here for a relationship, no. When 'men shopping' I go to national dating sites.

yeah, i'm here taking my chances in this site like i've done on other sites and met lovely people.

here though, i've met a good friend that's why i've stayed in this site.

now i'm looking for someone, as my headline had always been saying, "looking for that special someone"..

Well the last time I was looking for my dream girl I was 17, looking for a girl my age. After 27 years of marriage I am looking for my dream girl again. But at " Just turned 49 last week " It isn't as easy as it was back then so I'm trying everything lol

Seriously... maybe,... keeping my expectations realistic, more or less.
Remember that 70's song "I believe in milk duds" or was it "miracles"?

A common, but rarely carefully well thought out question.

I am looking EVERYWHERE for a serious lifetime mate.

On the other hand, that doesn't mean that I am doing as most who ask this question really mean to ask. That is, I am NOT blindly signing up to "give a try" to anyone who follows the online rules of meeting and so on. I am under zero obligation to anyone else who thinks that I "should" like them, and no one is under any obligation to me, either.

And not EVERYTHING I do, here or elsewhere, is based on finding a mate. So I am not "seriously looking" in that rather fanatic meaning of the terms. But I certainly am "seriously looking" in the sense that I want to finally find the real mate I always wanted, but never had.

M2 is primarily an online dating site.
Even those that say they are here just for the forums or to be social probably came to M2 with the iintent of finding their someone special or someone that they could socially bond with.

M2 was not always "M2", I think it started out as "Just Say Hi" er something to that effect. But, no matter what it was, the expectation was to meet other people and to establish a social bond.
Establishing a social bond with anyone is a type of relationship.
So, you came here to establish a relationship online.

By contrast, there are many sites with forums and communities in a social 'atmosphere'. Why pick a site that has a dating platform?
Because, there is an expectation and desire to meet someone special here. You want someone else to see you and choose you. It doesn't matter if they choose you for a lover or a friend. You are seeking something.

Personally, I stopped searching the database for a match. I now primarily come for the discussions in the community. It doesn't mean I stopped looking, I just don't actively search like I did when I first joined. To me, I get more realistic value from the forums.

I also belong to a few other dating websites. Some have forum communities and some don't.
If I ever find her, no matter where, I will no longer be on dating websites. I will however, still participate in other forum type communities because I have interests beyond interpersonal relationships.
