I’ve just read an article about the stages of love which are infatuation, landing, burying, resurfacing then ultimately love. I am just wondering if we should go through all these just to find out true love or if there are any couples who skipped the stages or had like a short cut?

Well, infatuation could be the initial lust, landing could be first contact winking ,burying could be full on never apart, resurfacing could be when you get over the last stage and back to reality then love being the outcome of the first stages when you know it's right or wrong for you!
My take on it anyway smile2

Shortcuts are always dangerous and I believe "Beachfarmer's" suggestion is for totally for fun laugh

@scepticalsoulmate: I will say that we are all different when it comes to love and this 5 stage theory is not for everyone.
I have learnt in my short life that there is no "ideal manual" or processes to follow when I am dealing with issues of the heart.
My only recommendation to you will be to follow your heart with a lot of common sense and find the combination that works for you and you will surely be happy you did it your own way.
Those stages you read about is from someone's experience, please lets all go ahead and discover our own natural way of finding and staying in love.

All the best.

Thank you Evans , that was a good explanation. I guess the best never comes easy huh. Following the heart with a lot of common sense is easier said than done as one has to listen more to the other to come up with a decision but I do agree that there is no hard and fast rule in relationships I just wonder how come some guys have all the luck shades all the best to you too

I guess so, but as Evans says it's best to find your own route, if you plan something often it doesn't work where as if you take it as it comes and then it's not such a failure. .

Planning is not a word in my vocabulary lol and as such I always assume the worst, so afib what if there’s not even a route? I guess there will be no destination huh? Wow I just had a moment there think

Thanks blondey waving:thumbsup: I know every individual is different and more so every situation varies. I wonder if you’ve had a relationship that didn’t have to go through a lot of stages though? It is possible right?

Your on a route planned or not, you can turn off at any time there is a destination at the end of all of them,if you're not happy with it then turn around and go a different way waving

Love is all about emotions. It's not an algebra formula.

Why is it...That people try to make things that are simple, complex?

I think its safe to say that the opposite of Love is to Despise, right?

Think about when you Despise something.
Before you despise it, do you make a fulfillment list before hand?
I don't. It just happens. Likewise, Love just happens.

Why then would you make a fulfillment list for Love?
Is love somehow more complicated than repulsion?
Not really.
They are both based on emotions in opposite ways but still based on emotional states.

People love others that are bad for them.
People love others that are good for them.
Basically, People love others.

People despise others that are bad for them.
People despise others that are good for them.
Basically, People despise others.

There is no sequence of events that lead to love.
You have experience and wisdom that might dictate your actions
but they don't guarantee love.
Using someone else's experience and wisdom to experience love is like trying to use a recipe for clam chowder to hook up your stereo.

If they resurface, you’re probably not burying them deep enough. smokin
