I wonder if you'd know this, you know the little plastic kits you get to make tanks, aeroplanes etc!
We had a company called 'airfix '
They did a model of Henry VIII, about 5 inches high!

Marriage is a beautiful thìng. Wedding is that initiation into this awesome but complex institution.
We may have had failed marriages on here, but they deserve to be celebrated.
I wish the couple blissful marital experience!

How early would I have had to get up to watch it? My cousin told me she was going to watch it. I was wondering though...……. how many taxpayer pounds went into paying for the affair? Surely it was well over a million.

oopsslaphead I seem to have posted my comment twice. So was there a competition to see who could wear the biggest hat? Did Meghan's wedding cost more than Kate's?

that is sort of a load of crap!!
marriage is nothing but a egotistacal title,or a way to catagorize people into pigeonholes for OTHER people's asthetic conveinience!
'marriage' is an antiquated practice, and has lost all of its meaning,as it has become a disposable institution that can be broken on a whim.
if a couple is truly commited to each other, they dont need a title to prove it!
especially to some sort of supreme being who they are asking to supposedly bless their union.
IMO,if it wasnt for the tax benefits that people receive for being married, there would be absolutely no sane purpose for it whatsoever!!

wow a little cynical there pal.

Marriage is a personal thing,if differs from culture to culture , religion to religion and even country to country.

In America we view marriage differently than lets say those who live in Asia.
doesn't mean they are wrong and we are right or vice versa.

Those that follow judeo christian beliefs views marriage differently than an atheist , so its important to some of us, just because you dont think its important doesnt mean we are wrong

I think it was around £45 million!
But the amount generated by the day will be 2, 3 or 4 times that, it is a myth that the royal family cost us money, they generate far more!

laugh
I'm sure if it wasn't for legal reasons many wouldn't get married, but until the law is changed it will continue.
It's a religious thing and I wonder what percentage of those who get married actually continue with the faith!
Personally, I'd say if you want to be together then just do it!
Plus it's so expensive these days!

but,the OTHER side of that coin is "just because YOU think that it is important doesnt mean that I am wrong!!"

marriage started off as a religious ceremony, and NOW it is just a LEGAL loophole that a lot of people who arent necessarily religious HAVE TO engage in,if they want the benefits that are given to people who do choose to engage in it,which sort of pushes religion on to people, whether they want it,or not,if they want to receive the same benefits that people who ARE religious receive, which is sort of against the principles that this country,[the U.S.] was founded on!!

cuz, this country [the U.S.] wasnt founded on the rpinciple of 'freedon OF religion',so much as it was founded on the principle of "freedom FROM religion",since a lot of the people who came here and founded this country came here because they were fleeing from religious persecution.

but,NOW,it is just another tired old 'tradition' that people blindly follow, without knowing exctly WHY they are doing it,when they could have the exaact same relationship WITHOUT having to do it,cuz, married,or not,for the most part,a marriage will wind up the EXACT SAME WAY that it would have, whether they actually go through with the ceremony,or not, cuz, like i said in my original post, marriage is nothing but a disposable institution, nowadays, that can end on a whim.
[which, ironically,is how A LOT of marriages start in the first place!!]
