Ok. I’m new to online dating. And this IS a dating site, right ?
So it’s a little discerning that there are apparently people on this site for years ! Isn’t the goal to find someone, and then go spend our time with that person ? Instead of, say, here ? Or am I really missing something about how this works ? |

Ok. I’m new to online dating. And this IS a dating site, right ? So it’s a little discerning that there are apparently people on this site for years ! Isn’t the goal to find someone, and then go spend our time with that person ? Instead of, say, here ? Or am I really missing something about how this works ? i myself can only control the actions of me own not others i don't search any more , have not been looking for a while so i should leave and not chat with me friends i made here , or chat on forums , or meet new people ,or help people in the help forums... i must leave : ( BUMMER <shrug> i see no problem with it , if they put it out there that they are not looking like some profiles you will see here for forums only any who welcome to the zoo best wishes on your hunt not sure what you are goen do when ya find out some people here are married and not looken ... well some are looking too , but that is a different story for another time, maybe |

I have been here on Mingle2 since 2013.. took 2 years off to work on blogging for extra income but the darn site went out of business!.. came back in 2015 looking for a relationship after being on a paid site unsuccessfully. Now just here to post in the forums and mingle with friends. We have fun! My advice is not to put your eggs in one basket. Try other sites and if you are seriously looking try the paid sites. But... none (as far as I know) of the other dating sites (free or paid) have free messaging, free to read profiles, free to search, AND free to post in the forums and mingle with other members. I love Mingle2  and I love my mingle friends |

You cannot delete your account. So anyone who's ever signed up is still a member. You can deactivate your account, that's it, but I think many forget to do that when they either find someone or give up.
There's also other reasons. There's people who have been in a relationship since signing up, it didn't work out and they came back on here. I've been here since 2013, had a relationship for a year and a half. During, I was still on here. Not much, but occasionally, just the forums. I'm here for the forums only so I didn't see any reason why I should leave when in a relationship. I was member of a dating site as well, but I deactivated there when in relationship. There's also people who like the forums and aren't looking for a relationship (anymore). So there can be all kinds of reasons why people have been on here for years. |
