Hey everybody. What do you think of a very culture oriented country? Any pros and cons you can think of?
I am asking you this because of my country. Sometimes I think there is too much culture here. Too many holidays(Since We have many ethnic places) and on and on.....

Guys. Dont get me wrong. I am not saying culture is bad. On the contrary its good. It is your identity. What I am saying is that whether celebrations for every single cultural thing is good or bad.
It takes money and time, I think

Culture is part of a nation's identity. Everybody should relish his/her own culture, but also accept other cultures.

True. Nobody should disrespect anybody's culture including their own

I think I get you ... living in America we celebrate a lot of Holidays ...
even if it is not your personal culture... but that is one of the good things here ...
diversity... now if you live in a place where you live under a dictator then you will...
only get what that country is about ... but America has come a long way in other countries ... for instants food and drink co. the different kinds of energy's ...

but mainly if you have one culture that surrounds you...
that is all you will understand and know ... and others have to understand that is the way of the world ... but that just my own opinion... and the way I see the world...

When I was in the Navy I saw many different cultures of the world.
When I was working and traveling I saw many different cultures in the states.
Now that I am homebound, I see this culture (which is different from the one in which I was raised) locally.

I find the different cultures interesting.
I don't agree with or want to adopt many but I do understand others should have the freedom to express any culture they want.

Culture is appreciated when it remains as a an expression of the nation's past and traditions, some sort of folklore that is nice to be discovered and admired every now and then. But as soon as this culture turns to be the motive of radicalism, racism, or even chauvinism, you should get prepared for the worst. The history is full of examples.
