Tried numerous times to log in this morning,
and couldn't. As I had had the same password
since my signup date, 1887... errr 2008 I was a
bit puzzled.

Clicked the site link to retrieve password.
Awhile later, checked my offsite email, and
found the notification to change password
to be able to log in.

Oh well... It was time to change it laugh

I'm gonna put this, in the 'Stuff Happens' file,
and continue enjoying the site.

I clicked on the link I was sent in the e-mail...I was suspicious, because I got a "Redirecting" message, and shut that tab..

All those scams we read about where someone sends a fake e-mail pretending to be someone's bank...

So, I went to Mingle itself and tried to sign in, and went through the reset *that*w ay..

All good here (1st Email, clicked link)
Didn't really need to change it.

I think, with the 3 day expire, M2 "powers that be" are clearing out some of the inactive members. Database purge??
Good idea.

I wonder if after the 3 days, searches will yield different result?
I'm not looking right now but it would be interesting if anyone came back to this thread after 3 days and doing some searches.
Did you see a change?
Are the 'known' inactives gone?
Ya know, stuff like that.

Perhaps a mod could contact their 'boss' to confirm it.
Personally, I think it is a good idea because most that complain about the site complain about inactive members.

Its probably likely that after the 3 days grace, if you want to sign in, you have to create a new profile.
This will put new member names and start dates in the forums.
Same ole people, different profiles.
Those of us who did confirm our activity will still keep their profiles, member names, start date and post counts.

Plus, yes, I too was wary it was a scam (due to the continuation of the original password). My profile was hi-jacked at POF and DH. I stopped using those sites.

This was not a purge it was only to reset all passwords nothing more.. Old profiles are still there that has not been on in years.. Sure it will knock some of the scammers out due to they will have to reset passwords.. But will only slow them down for a bit..

Immediately prior to the reset,
my inbox finally had 36 hours of blessed
silence.

Immediately following the reset,
my inbox is boomin' again.

Make it stop! sad

Can someone please tell me after reset that I couldn't get in the system?
I changed my password many times and always said invalid password, I sent a message where it say "CONTACT US" explaining the situation but NO response ,
I had to sign up 3x but still not working this is my 4th time and don't want to log out in case I can't get back in.
Can someone help?
Thanks for your time

Try changing your password to your original one.
(It may be looking at too many changes.)

I’ve experienced the same problem! It won’t let me go back to my original pw so now I’m afraid to log off... when on my iPad it let me (so far, one time) use my fingerprint to log in with the new STRONG pw that was given to me from the site but I can’t see it so I don’t know what it is! I do not understand why I cannot change it to the original one.....what

Well I finally after thousand of attempts got through through the admin. Team and they told me that this is a problem with others and it's a clitch in the system and have PATIENCE, but I've lost everything from my original profile so hopefully they can correct so they say, no sure if that helps I guess time will tell!
