I've once spent a day at the OR during my study of medical assistant. I was doing apprenticeship in hospital and I was allowed to be in the OR.
Now I always wanted to be an OR assistant, the only career dream I've ever had in my life!!
So then I got to wait there for the patient and surgeon etc. to come in, all alone in an actual OR.
THAT was like heaven! A dream come true!
Even though I couldn't get it sorted to become an OR assistant I at least had my day there.

Another great thing of spending a day at the OR department is that the sphere there is entirely different from the rest of a hospital. A high sense of comradery that I haven't experienced in other departments.
It felt like home!

I've always loved hospitals, even as a young child. Florence Nightingale was my hero!
The work, the care, being part of that community, the scent in hospital etc. etc.
