In Illinois today we are celebrating the second annual Cheap Trick Day in honor of the Rockford home town boys. I encourage everyone to crank up some of their tunes. This is about the only thing the Illinois state legislature has gotten right for quite a while.

I saw them a couple of years ago. They still rock. Neilsen is a vastly underrated guitarist. Probably because he's such a clown.

When Rick Nielson went to the state capital building for the dedication of Cheap Trick Day, he layed down on the floor of the rotunda to look up at the ceiling. Said he always wanted to do that.

I don't know how true this is, even though it came from a good friend of mine (he's known to exaggerate), but he said he ran into Robin Z at a bar after a show and Robin tried to pick him up. I'd never heard he was gay and my friend is notoriously homophobic, so I take the story with a very large grain of salt.

Carlos' mom owns an antique shop in Rockford. A very sweet lady indeed.
