I have an image I created in Gimp 2.6.11. I want the color white to be transparent. How do I do so? Try this: On the menu, select "colors" then "color to alpha". This method is really simple, but it has the disadvantage of making transparent every pixel which has that color. Maybe you want only the pure-white regions to be selected for transparency? |

Thank you, I found it at http://heron.tc.clarkson.edu/~horn/classes/comm214/weeks/transparency.html. Yes, I wanted the entire color white to be transparent.

You can also reduce opacity during individual colour application. 20% gives me pretty good results.
Look up some of the Gimp tutorials on Youtube. There are some pretty good ones for visual effects. |
